I’d like to point out that Minnesota’s last 3 wins are against OSU, Chicago State, and UAPB.

The legend grows. Edey couldn’t catch passes a couple years ago…

Loyer has that Wojo, Collins, Schreyer vibe. Good for Purdue, but it will be insufferable by 2016.

The Big Ten has gone an entire week without a game being decided by single digits. Twelve games.

I think that by the end of the year, Illinois is going to be pretty good again (I think they’re pretty good now, but all the numbers will bear it out)

I think the numbers already do show that. They are in the 2nd tier in EM, 2nd group in KenPom, etc.

Defense is great. Offense is a stinky mess that sometimes gets right.

I guess I’m thinking that they end the season closer to #20 in torvik/kenpom than #45

Maybe that’s a lot of work to do in terms of moving the overall number at this point, but they’ve been top-20 quality int he last 10 probably.

They are ranked 22nd now!

Wow…Torvik has them #40. I feel like the two don’t vary that much!

Peripherally - is RJ Melendez a top tier defender? He’s a serious anchor offensively and I’m having a hard time explaining why he plays as much (if not more!) than Mayer.

He’s really their only backup wing, so that’s why he plays a lot. Mayer plays more minutes than him though except when he was sick (IU) and when he’s been in foul trouble (3+ fouls and 2 foul outs in the last eight games other than that sick game).

Torvik RosterCast is in shambles.

How much better can Illinois’ numbers get when they only have one game left against Minnesota, and none against Wisconsin or Nebraska? Rutgers, Iowa, and Michigan all have three such games left.

Well, I think Illinois is better than Iowa and Michigan at least by a pretty solid margin. Them being similar to Rutgers, at least in my head, makes sense?
