I need to find the post where I broke down the rules of the Stephen Bardo Catchphrase Drinking Game. Time to blow the dust of that sucker.
I can’t play. I’m a fall asleep with background noise person, and Bardo-called games are great for that. My favorite thing about Bardo is that his voice doesn’t inflect much. Nice and steady smooth delivery of, well, whatever it is he is delivering.
I remember the first time I heard the word “talent.” I was working as the public address announcer at the MHSAA State Final Football games around the turn of the century when it was at the Silverdome and I passed a doorway that led into the TV booth. On the door it said “Talent Only.” So I asked someone about that and they said, “Oh, that’s the TV announcers, they’re called the talent.” I thought it was interesting that the incredibly talented camera operators and others that make sure everything is perfect in terms of sound and picture, and camera angles, etc, etc are not the “talent.” No, that term is reserved for guys who just talk for a living on TV or the radio. And, by the way, THIS take from a guy (me) who has literally talked for a living, though certainly NOT as a television personality, just as a teacher, a coach, a PA announcer, and a few other things!
Wow! You would probably HATE listening to me talk, hack! Well, you probably already hate reading the things I write!
This is just a ploy. Langford is going to jump from behind the press table, rip off his suit to reveal a jersey underneath and start his 8th straight year as MSU’s starting SG
Wise analysis from over 20 years of Big 10 playing experience just between him and Robbie Hummel alone
Depends on the time of day. Send me a recording and maybe I’ll see if it’s good for waking up the kids in the morning? Could be a lucrative sidehustle. My older one’s 13, so if I’m a market for this you know you others here …
I see Lisa Byington on there. She was the first female PBP for the BTN a few years ago and this year is the first full time PBP for an NBA team (Milwaukee). I imagine she won’t be used for more than a small number of games.
Jaden Ivey is #5 to the great gelled one.
Yeah, I believe she’s meant to be listed as a “contributor” which to me means more part time and pick up games here and there.
As a gaffer/set lighting technician I completely agree with your take
I’m serious! To me, that’s the real talent! I mean some of those people are amazing in the things they are able to do to bring us such an excellent product.
Yeah I’m all for some younger announcers who can relate a playing experience past like 1987.
Painter doing a great job of confusing me on what his starting lineup will be
Probably can etch Bufkin, Furst, and Christie into the Curbelo/Ivey spots next year already. Provided one of the first two doesn’t leave after this year.
You can tell Matt took this game extremely seriously.
I like how you assumed an MSU freshman is never declaring
actually I meant to refer to Christie and Bufkin. Thought I ordered it that way. Considering Christie will have a huge role I am really hoping he is OAD
