Eh. The narrative is different if they lose in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament.
They would have missed the tourney outright and have no momentum.

Some people are having a night on Reddit. I decided to respond to someone saying Juwan doesn’t care about 3 pointers and that Dickinson regressed playing next to Diabate.
I see now you decided to wade in. Guy will not relent.
Did a sweep of the news to update my roster list and the B10 is gonna SUCK next year. If Michigan gets Shannon + one of Houstan/Diabate they might be favorites to win the B10 by multiple games… Minnesota probably finishes in the top half.
Minnesota kinda owns us since Beilein left.
Didn’t realize 1-3 is owning
It is when it used to be 20-2 in our favor.
Lol no it’s not. Literally next year it could get back to 3-3. Every small sample size doesn’t need to have the most extreme reaction associated with it
Yes it does. Shut your mouth
Did other leagues get much worse too? Is this a COVID year thing? Or is the B1G gonna be rebuilding relative to other leagues for at least this year?
Not sure, but I feel like it has a lot to do with the B10 striking out on transfers so far. I don’t think an All Big Ten player has transferred in yet?
Also Michigan extended their Sweet 16 streak because of a joke of bracket, despite having what was universally considered the hardest three seed.
Jacob Grandison and Austin Hutcherson for Illinois are both on the early entrant list despite for the NBA draft not publicly announcing. Both are 5th years who won’t get drafted so it’s basically about whether they want to start a pro career or not.
Grandison would be a loss for Illinois, especially since it seems like they’re not gonna land every transfer in the portal like they expect. Hutcherson has barely played at Illinois due to injury and seems likely to transfer if he returns, so he’s probably a scholarship Illinois is happy to get back.
Help me understand Granderson’s eligibility. He’s already played four years and sat out a RS year when he transferred to Illinois. Does he get a sixth year for Covid I guess?
I have a feeling Illinois will be ok recruiting over at least one of them
That’s my understanding. You’ll see many players listed as a senior on the official NBA list because technically they still have another season of eligibility due to COVID.
A quick example is Eric Ayala. He played four years at Maryland but is still technically an early entrant because he has a year of eligibility left due to COVID.
Heh, weren’t all the Illini sites hyping him hard?
He was never healthy.
Yeah, I saw that. I just was very skeptical that a D3 guy was going to come in and be a force in the Big Ten.

Had no idea Maryland was that empty, I thought they were collecting a lot of portal dudes
