Also score a point for not fouling up 3
Glad Purdue won. That was a massive ref screw up even if Purdue should have realized
Probably a foul but no way refs were calling a foul there or they wouldn’t have made it out of west Lafayette
Especially that early.
That felt like an official error. Even if they told the player, it isn’t the players fault the clock malfunctioned? I guess I don’t know the right answer there, but I bet the refs messed something up.
Clock didn’t start on time.
Szelc and friends called that foul 3 times on Moussa last night.
But under the circumstances probably right to swallow the whistle
I think the clock started early (when they threw it between inbounders0 .
Yeah I mean overall the numbers say it’s basically a wash. But things can go wrong either way
That’s what I meant.
Ivey has 1 assist in the last 2 games. That’s problem for Purdue if it continues since Ivey’s the one with the ball in his hands.
Thought the stats showed Keegan Murray struggles against high major opponents???
He has 24 at half against Nebraska.
Does Nebraska count as high major?
Exactly…….
I deleted my message because I actually misread your post. I thought you were saying that fouling worked because they won. I thought there was too much time left in this instance (even without all the drama that ensued).
In all seriousness I don’t think anyone claims he’s bad against good teams, but Iowa really does seem to pad their players stats against bad teams with a consistent bottom 5%tile noncon schedule. He’s been good in conference but his stats in their 6 toughest games are several steps back from his total numbers
I am a bit concerned with how Michigan will be able to defend him but the overall defensive improvement helps
So if the ref stopped it to look at the clock, and just tell the player they can’t move….that can’t be it, right? Surely there has to be more they have to do to indicate the player cannot move.
Yeah, this is the real point. He’s a really good player but his statistical production is just so boosted because of how Iowa schedules and blows out very bad teams.
That’s generally enough, but considering Purdue just ran a play that involved moving he should have been very clear and he should have went to the huddle to tell them the same play wouldn’t work
Yeah, the ref, obviously, didn’t notify the inbounds player he couldn’t use the action of the previous inbound play. Huge screw up. There was no way Scott was going to get the foul call on his shot. Williams definitely got Scott on the arm during the shot.
I couldn’t find a replay of the throw-in violation, but the official will typically indicate it’s a spot throw-in by pointing to the floor before handing the ball to the thrower. He’ll also typically saying something like “spot” or “don’t move” when handing the ball to the player. I would hope he did both (signal and verbal) but I don’t know if he did.
Trevion had perfect defensive position on that final play. He did not foul Scott.
