Big Ten Basketball 2020-21 Discussion (Part 2)

Reuvers getting 2 fouls was big for Wisconsin. They’re much better without him

Reuvers must practice better than Karl Malone or something. I can’t think of any other explanation for his playing time.

Iowa is playing so terribly

They’re shooting like Michigan did earlier today. There’s something about these sight lines that seems to screw up jump shooters for a while.

Clearly.

But they’ve been terrible at doing all sorts of basketball things so far.

I do think the sight lines issue does lend itself to the lower seeds who already played having an early advantage

They may settle in during the 2nd half but if Wieskamp and Frederick aren’t healthy/hitting shots they are simply a good offense rather than a terrifying offense.

Yes, you’re absolutely right. They can beat Wisconsin without contributions from Fredrick and Wieskamp, but they can’t beat Illinois, or do anything in the NCAAs.

I love how we’ve collectively stopped giving a **** about this game after the news broke

Yeah, this is a terrific WI-Iowa game, but I am too sick to my stomach to enjoy it.

Wisconsin sucks.

This version of Iowa is not beating Illinois, but they should have a better chance than Wisconsin.

I’ve never seen a game end like that. A review to decide 3 seconds have run off and the game is over.

Why not just go to the possession arrow, since he missed? It wasn’t guaranteed that all 3 seconds would have expired if the players had known what was going on.

Momentary lapse of concentration by the ref crew. It happens, but agreed never seen at end of game.

It’s not the referees’ job to ensure that Wisconsin knows the game situation. They clearly indicated it was a 1 and 1.

I thought the refs blew the play dead on the missed front end of 1n1?

They didn’t blow the whistle until after the ball had been tapped back to the shooter’s teammate and they realized the clock wasn’t running. They measured the time from when the guy caught the rebound to the time when they blew the whistle, and it must have been more than 3.1 seconds.

My bad, clock operator was the fault clearly. Thanks.

I love coaches sticking up for players and vice versa but I am confused on what the double standard is for Fran vs everyone else? I mean Juwan was hit with a technical and ejected today?
