Big Ten Basketball 2020-21 Discussion (Part 1)

That shot chart is … unusual.

The only thing that could happen when Fran in February visits Archie island.

Wisconsin?

Iowa is 3-5 in Q1 games (wins over Purdue, Rutgers and Maryland) and has five wins over sub-200 NET teams. :man_shrugging:

This Iowa is basically the same as previous Iowa’s. Let the February slide commence!

Garza got auto benched and then never picked up another foul

Nah. Even if they run the table I don’t think that’s enough to win the league.

Don’t want to thank IU too much as would have preferred a win over Illinois. But huge for them and Archie as they could not afford to go 0-2 at home this week.

Yeah, that would have been really nice. Still, for a .500 team to basically single-handedly knock Iowa out of contention is a solid gift.

(I know you were just trolling with that Wisconsin inclusion!)

Iowa is trash and Fran is trash. My lowest moment as a hoops fan was latching onto that abomination of a basketball program and attacking anyone on here who thought otherwise with vicious ad hominems. I apologize, @kturnup, @adamsmit86, @umhoops, and anyone else who experienced my fury. I will never again think of Iowa as anything other than a mid tier program.

You seem to be forgetting that CJ Frederick is going to return soon and give them food and water and smite their enemies.

I get a definite Amaker vibe from their program. The February fade, the untimely injuries, and the inability to win the most critical games. The one difference is that their fade happens slightly later so that they still make the tournament while we were perennial NIT title contenders.

Did a bit of a double take on the name of the questioner.

did you know that Mike Smith currently leads the B1G in assists per game?

I don’t get how his record in February has anything to do with his response though?? Seemed like a good move they got to halftime down 2. Unless this has more to do with Quinn acting out because McCaffrey went after a guy in the media.

Amaker was a lot worse, in fact he was terrible at Michigan. Yes he had some bad luck but he had exactly one season over .500 in the conference.

Yes this is BQ sticking for the media. But I think the question is absolutely fair. I mean these guys get paid millions of dollars you can be asked respectfully to explain your reasoning why you stapled those guys to the bench and not act like a child.

Fran’s done better, but not that much better. He’s never made it past the second round of the tournament even though his teams always seem to be ranked in January. The annual late-season slide is very Amakeresque.
