Can somebody explain to me why Wisconsin underperforming relative to their preseason expectations makes the entire Big Ten overrated?
And itās not even February and Fran hasnāt even gone completely bonkers yet!
Minnesota has 4 players out there in addition to Both Gach. Thatās 6-on-5, no wonder theyāre playing so well.
Purdue on a 21-5 run now to go up 56-44 with 9 minutes left, Ivey starting to play well
At the 7:00 mark of the first half, Minnesota led 26-13. Since then, Purdue is on a 46-19 run.
this is still without Stefanovic, right?
Yup. Minnesotaās cut it to 7 with 6:20 left though
sounds like their game @Iowa, they were down by double digits all day and went on a furious comeback too late
Correct. Though I swear I saw him on the sideline. Shouldnāt he still be quarantining?
Lead back up to 10.
Edit: Now 13.
Brandon Newman filling in that shooter role pretty nicely, heās gonna be good for them the next 4 years. Only a Redshirt Fr.
Jamal Mashburn is extremely bad
Minnesota 0 road wins.
Not just zero road wins; zero road wins, zero road losses by fewer than 12 points, and an average margin of defeat of 19.6.
Trying to keep home court advantage stats alive in a pandemic year.
And then on the flip side we have Eliteā¢ Maryland, losers of every conference home game (0-4) but 3-3 on the road.
I never said Wisconsin is bad I think they are probably overrated. At what point and how many losses would it take to say that Wisconsin was probably overrated?? They have @Ilinois, Michigan, Iowa, @Iowa, @Purdue, Illinois left. If they were fortunate to play all 20 league games if they lost say 8-9 conference games I donāt necessarily think it speaks to how great the conference was. I like Chris Mack and Louisville but if thatās one of your best wins through 18 games we might need to start asking questions.
Why is Wisconsin the determining factor for how good the conference is? If Michigan basically swaps places with them, what does that change about the conference? Thereās still 3 top 10ish teams and several other ranked teams just like in the preseason. If anything, I think the bottom of the Big Ten has proven to be better than expected making it a deeper conference
going something like 12-8 in such a deep conference would easily be a top 25 team. I mean it isnāt like the computers are the only ones that love the Big Ten right now. Bracket Matrix has 9 of the 14 teams as currently in the tournament and Maryland as the first team out with teams seeded 1, 2, 3, 3, 4, 6, 7, 10, and 11.
Two big ones coming up for Rutgersā¦ @NW tonight and then Minnesota on Thursday. Win those two and they are in the thick of the NCAA picture again.
