Big Ten Basketball 2020-21 Discussion (Part 1)

Straight up, and he knew what was coming. I don’t want to recognize OSU though. Efficiency numbers be damned!

Same thing happened in their Maryland loss IIRC. They just forget to run anything through Kofi.

I still think Iowa and Wisconsin are up there. Their season long results generally indicate that. At this point I don’t think Illinois’s do. Minus a blowout of Minnesota and a great 2nd half vs NW, they’ve been playing below the others to me.

That was a very very freshman decision from Miller.

OSU really doesn’t want to take this game

Part of the issue is that I haven’t been very impressed at their ability to feed him in good position. Part of that is credit to OSU for sure.

I’ve considered trying to get my buddy to flatter you through imitation for MSU. I’m always shocked that they don’t have anything this good.

OSU meltdown?

edit: not yet

So if OSU holds on, then Illinois falls to 9-5 and still has five games against the other top teams in the league. I could easily see them finishing 6-5 down the stretch if they don’t figure this out.

Cockburn finishes perfect from the floor (7-7) and gets up fewer shots than all but one U of I starter. I’m glad I don’t have to root for that team, woof.

I didn’t see the play, so I’m not sure re: the issue.

It was a post possession where the player was shouldering the defender and he fell down.

I think it was when an angry Kofi Cockburn (after catching a shot to the face and some jawing) got the ball on the next play, lowered his shoulder into the defender (inside the charge circle) so he could dunk on him.

So, something about an offensive foul being called inside the restricted area? The basic idea is that the restricted area only applies to a secondary (eg.- help) defender. The primary defender can still take a charge on a ballhandler if that ballhandler is his defensive matchup on the play. Does that address it, or am I not reading the issue correctly?

Yeah, that’s it and basically what I was trying to say.

17 days from last Wednesday is Jan 30th, the day before they play @OSU. He’ll miss Illinois and &Rutgers for sure.

Will Langford be able to get another redshirt so he is eligible for 2 more years??? There has to be a clause for him…

Technically yes, everyone can come back with the free Covid waiver. So we could see another (7th?) year of Trice or Langford.
