ignorant = accurate thus far
How much of the social media criticism is from Tom Izzo burner accounts to try and drive Loyer out? I mean, the guy only played him 7.5 mpg last year. 5 minutes or less in half of the conference games.
Jon Rothstein is tweeting out the Big Ten/ACC Challenge matchups (one by oneā¦)ā¦
- North Carolina at Iowa
- Purdue at Miami
- Boston College at Minnesota
- Penn State at Virginia Tech
- Louisville at Wisconsin
- Georgia Tech at Nebraska
- Pittsburgh at Northwestern
- Maryland at Clemson
- Syracuse at Rutgers
I believe MSU is paired with Virginia, per Izzo today. U-M should be out soon.
Iām guessing theyāll do Duke-Illinois as one. Hoping they give us FSU instead of getting stuck with relatively minor matchup like NC State, Syracuse or Notre Dame.
Wake Forest is the one team not participating this year, FWIW.
Syracuse Rutgers will be one of the ugliest games of basketball played all year. Canāt wait for that matchup, especially with the border state aspect. Also love that it means we wonāt be playing Syracuse.
The trouble with FSU and Notre Dame is that they are due for home games. U-M is also due for a home game.
NC State would fit the bill.
Illinois heads to Dukeā¦ Iām guessing MSU is at Virginia.
Indiana at Florida Stateā¦
Rematch from last year. Guess that means we get NC State again
Yep ā thatās the only matchup left.
Blech. What a boring matchup. At least itās pretty winnable.
Looks like he was a role player in his time at Utah State. Was he projected to be a part of OSUās rotation?
He wasnāt going to start, but Iād have been very surprised if he was not in the rotation. He started for a preseason top 25 team that was Tournament-bound. I watched a few Utah State games last season. Solid role player. Not an insignificant loss for OSU IMO.
Keeping on the OSU news: I was listening to the new 3MW pod this morning and they said in the roundup section that Musa Jallow and Seth Towns are still out indefinitely. Looking around the only thing I was able to find was the following article from a few weeks ago that says neither Jallow or Towns has started practicing yet but both are hoping to start non contact drills soon.
I havenāt seen an update since then but if thatās the case Iād be pretty skeptical about the health of both. Towns hasnāt played since March 2018 and still isnāt healthy enough to practice, and Jallow since March 2019. They also mention in the article that Bucknell transfer Jimmy Sotos had his waiver for immediate eligibility denied. If Jallow starts the season hurt and Sotos doesnāt get his waiver appealed then OSU is down to CJ Walker, Duane Washington and freshman Eugene Brown at G, with Walker being the only real PG.
That is massively concerning for towns
Yeah that is very concerning for OSU. I would temper expectations for Towns if he still isnāt back from his injury. He has been out a long time and may not be the same player he used to be even when he does come back.
Thatās a real bummer for Towns. I like him and his game a lot. But yeah that doesnāt spell great things for his season.
I do really like Duane Washington and CJ Walker for OSU though. Very thin on depth though
