It’s about to happen. Big Shot Baker the Bucket Maker. I’ve got my #0 jersey on.
Is Stephen Bardo the only analyst that BTN has left?!
Sotos with a line drive triple.
Sotos with the first points of the game on a nice three. Shows what I know!
He also fouled Baker on an and-1 and just got beat by Young for a bucket
Re: MSU, there’s some old expression about Jimmys and Joes being more important than Xs and Os. I haven’t watched all of their games, but this seems true re: Sparty. Check the 1-on-1 matchups at any given point in a game, and I’m not sure you can ever pick more than one position where they have a clear advantage. I’m sure Izzo will shrink the rotation at some point, but it’s clear that, right now, he has no real idea how to best do that.
Yeah, the solution to this team’s offense was to develop Rocket into a guy who could efficiently play on ball and run a pick and roll. Needed a 110 Orating instead of 97. Hard to say how much that just falls on Rocket being incapable or Izzo not being a good enough teacher.
A lineup of Meechie Johnson, Musa Jallow, Justin Ahrens, Justice Sueing and Zed Key for OSU.
Unsurprisingly struggles mightily and forces a TO by Holtmann.
That’s an interesting point. I remember people at 247 hating on Irvin endlessly and calling for him to use far fewer possessions. It’s easy to say that, it’s not easy to finish that point and give a suggestion for who should be replacing those possessions. It’s not really fair to get mad at someone for being out in a bad position.
Another wrong prediction by me. I swore Meechie Johnson would not play this season.
Holtmann needs to be really careful with him.
Can you post a similar chart for John B? Thanks.
2 fouls on Johnson now. If this turns into a redux of game 1 for him OSU has a much better chance of pulling this off

Is Seth Towns still not “warmed up” or is he just not very good?
I agree that all their problems are roster construction-based. My answer to this is play their five best players regardless of position and hope they figure it out. Those five to me are Henry, Hauser, Brown, Watts, Langford, and Hall is close. But at any given time MSU is playing 3 max from this group (4 last night when they went to the Hall/Hauser frontcourt).
6 minutes for Brown is inexcusable when Loyer/Hoggard are playing 40 combined and the Kithier/Marble/Bingham/Sissoko group are playing 30 combined. That’s basically 70 minutes a game from non-factors on both sides of the ball.
Ivy League to big ten is just too big of a step up for most.
Rutgers is Rutgersing again
Young has convinced himself that he’s on fire.
We’re now to the Jacob Young 18-foot stepback portion of the game. Just terrible offense.
