Michigan State is still ranked. Not even mad, just laughing.

That’s honestly embarrassing. Any shred of credibility polls had were lost here

Duke still ranked, Virginia still ranked… Not sure what the use of a “Is this team successful in recent memory” poll is, but whatever.

Either State takes care of home court and beats Rutgers and Purdue this week and stays in the poll or Rutgers runs them out the the gym and Purdue beats them and they are out.

Really big week for them to protect home court and right the ship. I don’t think either of those teams are good matchups for them either.

Surprising how much spread there is between offensive efficiency ‘groups’ and how well those correlate to how I would tier teams: Group 1 - good offense/ the five contenders, Group 2 - average offense/ the huge jumbled group of teams fighting for tournament spots, Group 3 - Nebraska.

MSU and Purdue are a little lower on offense than the rest of group 2, but they’re in the mix.

Would there still be a Michigan-PSU game? I mean wouldn’t the rest of the PSU team have been exposed, so they could be contagious? Or will the rest of the PSU team get a rapid test the day before our 1/9 game? Sorry I haven’t been on the site for a while so I don’t know how the B1G is doing testing, the protocols, etc.

Big Ten is doing daily testing. So even if guys were shut down due to contact tracing, they can test out of it with multiple negative tests.

Sounds like Penn State is on track to play at Ohio State this week.

Noticed this because Brian’s article today at MGoBlog made mention of KPI. Reminded me that it’s the worst ranking system ever made, and you can’t convince me that it doesn’t have a hidden “boost up MSU” factor.

KPI has and always will suck. How it got on team sheets I do not know. My favorite thing is that on BracketMatrix it is 129th out of 134 in determining the tournament, just a bit above RPI.

Mark Hollis was the chair of the Selection Committee when additional metrics were added to the Team Sheets. So, he got his buddy’s ranking system on it because he wanted to.

Yeah, the fact that it’s supposed to be a seeding tool and it’s literally one of the worst metrics out there when it comes to brackets/seeding…the mind is boggled.

It honestly makes me wonder what other ones could possibly be worse.

KPI hasn’t been updated since November 25… those numbers don’t mean anything

The funny thing is KPI is annually so bad that there is no way to even guess that
