Good no call on the last PSU possession.
Horrible call to get TJD to the line. Bad call at any point, horrible with 7 seconds left

Shockingly, Indiana realized that they should get the ball to TJD
Agreed re: both calls. On the last second regulation PSU shot, the shooter slightly faded away, the defender made a good challenge, and the players bumped calves well after the release. No official in their right mind is calling a foul on that play. It really bothers me that fans will hear the TV guy (Hummel in this case, but it happens all the time) say itâs a foul and automatically believe it. Jay Bilas syndrome.
Crispin is horrific.
No chance thatâs true.
How would you know?
I think itâs probably safe to guess there was some hyperbole involved, (though the Smith call was the worst Iâve seen in an utterly terrible year for charge calls so )
Safe to assume
Pink was actually one of PSU original colors.
No chance he wasnât making a lighthearted joke.
Almost feels like waving the white flag on the seasonâŚ
Yeah it does feel that way. What is the plan? Loyer or Hoggard would have to be it and those have their obvious downsides.
He could be looking at the big picture essentially punting on this year and trying to keep Watts around/engaged for when their new recruits come in.
In my opinion, doing whatâs best for Rocket Watts instead of whatâs best for the Michigan State basketball team is absolutely what they need to do. Kudos to notorious playersâ coach Tom Izzo for making that decision.
I always worry when the solution is to play more of a guy that you barely played (Hoggard in this case).
This is a rare case of Izzo covering for his player. I totally get that Watts is a more natural 2 in college and that being asked to play more PG clearly didnât work out for them so far.
At the same time, Watts is a 6â2" - 185 guard who thinks he has a shot at the NBA. Players like that are PGs in the NBA if they make it at all. While Izzo needed Watts to play PG, I think Watts needs to show the NBA he can play some PG (at least at times) if he wants to get drafted.
Itâs got to be Hoggard. Loyer just looks like a guy who doesnât have the physicality to be a major contributor at this level. Andrew Dakich was more physically capable of surviving in this conference.
He gets the college height bump too. Probably 6â1â. What shooting guards in the NBA have those measurements. Donovan Mitchell andâŚ? Rocket Watts is very much not Donovan Mitchell lol. Both in skill and wingspan.
i am surprised too that Watt doesnât want to play PG. I would think that most basketball players, if not all, want to have the ball more in their hands.
This is very enjoyable. Eagerly anticipating the next few chapters of this story. Too bad we canât binge watch it.
