Big Ten Basketball 2020-21 Discussion (Part 1)

Gach gets my vote for worst player in the conference

yeah not to be rude but he has looked unbelievably bad every time I see him with the ball in his hands.

Itā€™s not like Minnesota is playing well. MSU just sucks

The last few minutes of this game have been the worst stretch of combined basketball Iā€™ve seen in a while. Oof

I mean this entire start to the B1G season has been near perfect from a Michigan fan perspective. Tonight is possibly the highlight. So no, youā€™re not alone.

Now Iā€™m very aware we may join the ranks of a pissed off fanbase soon by losing either @ Maryland or at home to Minnesota or NW. But until that happens Iā€™m enjoying every second of it.

Are we happy about Maryland over Wisconsin?

Minnesota doesnā€™t even look good. Carr will be tough for Brooks to stop and Robbins will cause some problems as a stretch 5, but this has been bad vs awful.

The best part about this game is that Minnesota has not looked good.

I wouldnā€™t say ā€œworstā€ā€¦ Just has the biggest difference between talent and usage or confidence.

I am. Maryland looked competitive regardless of whether they won or lost, so at that point let them give Wisconsin a rare home loss. Also now there hopefully wonā€™t be any sleepwalking or overlooking them on Thursday.

Very happy. Michigan can win this thing if NPOY Hunter Dickinson emerges

Iā€™m right there with you. I just canā€™t believe how bad MSU looks. Yeah there offense is awful, but their defense is just on another level of how bad theyā€™ve been. Donā€™t know if Iā€™ve seen them be this bad multiple games in a row like this. And that was supposed to be what they could rely on until their offense figures itself out.

MSU is so bad. I feel like Iā€™m living in a simulation.

I didnā€™t listen to the podcast but I pretty strongly disagree with this. As @Umhoops mentioned, they have played a lot of zone offensive possessions, so that rate will inevitably fall. But, there is nothing inherently bad about scoring on a lot of assists, if anything it probably leans towards being a good thing.

Iowa barely runs ball screens and consistently has a super high assist rate (8th this year), but probably has the 2nd best offense in the country. Gonzaga has a high assist rate this year and is obviously an elite offense. The same for Baylor and Wisconsin.

The best PG in the BIG10 is the PG of whatever team MSU played most recently.

Michigan also has a high assist rate fwiw.

Carr looks great this year. I was never a big fan of him last year, but he is proving me wrong this year with his play.

Oh man, Langford was limping. I truly hope he is ok
