Big Ten Basketball 2020-21 Discussion (Part 1)

I’m the biggest Wisconsin skeptic on the planet and I’m now convinced Wisconsin is going to run away with this league. Illinois and Iowa did not handle their business well at all this week. MSU threw every punch they had in the 1H and that game was tied.

I don’t know, you just seem like an Iowa hater tbh

It’s strange that there’s any of those left, to be honest.

Minnesota shoots up from 50 to 42 on Kenpom. Iowa falls from 5 to 5.

I loved what the broadcast crew mentioned in the Wisconsin game today: you have a 5th year senior starting point guard, backed up by a 5th year senior. Experience with previous success begets future success

Two more fantastic games tomorrow, too. This conference keeps the gifts moving down that conveyor belt and into our viewing rooms.

Chump who turned it off with Iowa comfortably ahead in the final 30 seconds of the game, hand up. (My hand’s up).

It is kind of a win or bust year for Wisconsin. They have so many seniors. Next year is going to be totally different for them.

I do think they are the clear favorite at this point, though.

I mean who could blame you? It was a 7pt game with 38 seconds left

Not necessarily…all those seniors are allowed back, at least by the COVID eligibility rules. And none of them have realistic shots at the NBA. We could see Wisconsin run it back with a roster full of 26-year olds.

Did you know that Brad Davison is their youngest rotation player?

I didn’t watch the game live, but went back and watched it from the 2nd half under 12 after reading these comments. I was expecting a Brandon Paul type performance, but it looked more like a series of open 3s and the type of game that Livers could have on a good night. Going 8/9 is an incredible line for anyone in big 10 play, don’t get me wrong. But I enjoy a team taking advantage of a terrible Iowa defense no matter how it happens.

Against bad offenses Iowa gives up a bunch of uncontested jump shots.

Against good offenses Iowa gives up a bunch of uncontested jump shots and uncontested layups.

How does Garza’s defense compare to Doug McDermott when he was in college?

OSU slapping NW around a bit.

Slapping around seems like a lot. It’s 10-5, NW ball at the TV timeout and personally I think NW has gotten a much higher quality of shot so far

oh I didn’t realize that, my tracker was stuck at 8-0

Seth Towns checking in

2H underway, NW can’t get any good looks on offense so far.

NW had 16 points off of TOs in the first half. Didn’t score much in the half court

NW has fouled Kyle Young 5 times in the first 4 minutes of the 2nd half
