Absolutely no Excuse for Matt Painter's Purdue Team to be as bad as They are

Coming into the year, I thought this Purdue team would be pretty good. Looking at them now, they are clearly not very good (nor have they been at any point this season.) When looking at their rotation, it is loaded with talent. Terone Johnson, Ronnie Johnson, A.J. Hammons, Basil Smotherman, Kendall Stephens, Rapheal Davis, and Bryson Scott all play at least 16 minutes a game. According to Rivals.com, every single one of those players was a 4-star! You can blame youth and inexperience, but I don’t think that’s a fair argument. Terone Johnson is a senior, while Ronnie Johnson, Hammons, and Davis are sophomores that played a ton as freshmen last year. For whatever reason, they’re not really progressing. It’s one thing if a single guy doesn’t progress at the rate you thought he should, but with Purdue it’s all of them. Absolutely no reason they should be struggling the way they are with the talent they currently have.
