2024 NBA Playoffs Thread

I think the problem with that is the FO that cedes the responsibility more than Lebron. Lots of players I’m sure have takes that don’t get indulged!

It may not be popular here, but Pelinka’s accomplishments are basically tied to “works for the Lakers” and when he had to use his own discretion it’s nearly always a disaster

Which ones? I think their window closed when they let KCP and Caruso go to clear room for Westbrook.

Being the Lakers GM may have been tough in (the first chunk of) Jerry West’s day since there wasn’t unrestricted free-agency until 1988. But after that, it’s been pretty cushy. You’re at least starting on 2nd base, if not 3rd.

I mean, they got the best players of 3 different eras (Kareem, Shaq, Lebron) to sign as free agents!

Kareem was traded.

Don’t ruin my narrative!

tbf he did request a trade (according to wikipedia, either to LA or the knicks, though he might’ve preferred the knicks). getting guys to request trades to your city is pretty similar to signing them in FA on this specific point, i guess

What he said! It totally knew this!

How could Duke not figure out how to use Lively more last year?

I mean there is literally only 1 thing he can do

His usage this year is 12, he is among the least “used” players at his minutes level in the league

So it’s not as if he is used now. He catches 2/3 lobs a game

Turns out not “running offense” is a problem against good defenses

So trying to run your team like its nba2k2024 doesn’t really work out??? Congrats Ishbia
