Craft was a high character kid who played hard. I dont recall dirty plays from him ever.
Not only that, with that final airball from him that ensured that win, we moved on pretty quick.

Illinois has to hate the committee. Last year they are a 1 seed and have to play the number 10 KenPom team in the 2nd round. This year they are a 4 seed and have to play the number 2 KenPom team in the 2nd round.

Is that true nationally, or just in conference? If that’s a Big Ten conference thing, I’d love to play them with non-conference officials.
That’s fair. I shouldn’t compare anyone to Davison except, say, Grayson Allen.
Craft was mostly annoying because (a) he made some very good plays against Michigan and (b) the media treated him like he was the second coming.
I have to admit, (b) isn’t really his fault. But it still made me dislike him.

Duke/MSU is a definite “root for the comet” game, but I may cheer Duke because I couldn’t deal with Izzo closing the book on rat-coach

Such a beautiful day out here in Chicago but the Illini are losing, a game that determines our next matchup is next and while a bit annoying I can’t help but get swept up in Coach K vs Izzo in the former’s final season. Darn you NCAA
I would accept playing Illinois a third time (for multiple reasons). And if we did the 1989 thing to them again…we could live on that for decades.

Yes we dont need the Izzo storyline about him ending K’s career. I am more willing to live with Duke winning it all then any accolades being given to our angry dinky boi up the road.

Tough to say. Izzo is driven by repeating that success from 2000. But then again, only ever winning 3 games against K has to gnaw (haha) at him.
I always root for Duke over MSU when they play despite the UNC angle for me, but K’s obnoxious retirement tour has me a bit more 60/40 on wanting Duke to win.
Houston is going to blow this. ugh
