This is the Baylor of before Covid. They hadn’t quite been the same since they came back - until this weekend.
Gonzaga’s defense is absolute garbage right now.
The question: Who is perceived by college coaches to be the biggest cheater in the sport?
- John Calipari (Kentucky): 36 percent
- Scott Drew (Baylor): 34 percent
Old, but I doubt that it’s outdated in that regard.
I’ll bet there are people who were just fine with Ken Starr’s morally depraved leadership who still have plenty to do with that athletic department.
Oh no! Clean block ala Burke on Siva! Cmon refs
And this game is an example why timme is a borderline at best nba guy
Hmm, a star point guard benched early with 2 fouls in a national championship game…
That only talks about perception. If I had a dollar for every radio jockey who thought Calipari was a cheater I’d be a millionaire.
Baylor now -6 on the live line. Opened +4.5
Wait…is that Spike Albrecht’s music???
Still early.
And I freely admit that I’m pretty casual with my viewing of other teams. Not an expert. Don’t know the game as well as football.
But… seeing early on what I liked about Michigan’s matchup with Gonzaga, and what I didn’t like about Baylor. Now, Gonzaga is also not playing well. But I was glad to be bracketed with them rather than Baylor and felt better about playing them than some other teams, just because of how they’re built compared to us.
I don’t know that we would have an answer for what Baylor does. The one matchup that favors us, the Dickinson post game, isn’t something I think can overcome their athleticism and fronting. We’d get some points, but also some TOs and some misses and I don’t think it’s enough to keep up.
If Few was smart he’d put in Suggs sooner rather than later. Especially if it continues to get ugly
Edit: And there he is
He literally got sanctioned at two different schools… Are you saying he’s not a cheater?
That’s great, but the poll is literally his coaching peers. Not “random radio jockeys.”
CBSSports.com’s college basketball quartet of Gary Parrish, Jeff Goodman, Jeff Borzello and Matt Norlander spent the July recruiting period hobnobbing with nearly 100 coaches, brain-picking them on some of the sport’s current issues. From the best players to their comrades in coaching; from the AAU programs to the agents’ involvement; from the rule changes to the NCAA as a whole. We had to promise them anonymity, and in exchange, they gave us honest answers. Over the next three weeks here on the blog, we’ll be putting out one question per weekday and giving you the array of results, straight from the coaches’ mouths.
If I was still gambling (can’t do it legally from here) that original line would have been super tempting.
Baylor might have a slimy AD but their hoops team isn’t buying recruits. They only have maybe 2 top 100 recruits the last few years combined.
Some other articles seem to indicate he’s ruthless in his negative recruiting and that’s what pisses off the other coaches.
Baylor looks so fricken good. This is better than Nova from 18 good
I gotta say it, too - one guy on your basketball team murdering another guy and the coach covering it up is a stain that just doesn’t come out of a shirt.
Timme got fouled on that loose ball.
Most college coaches are detestable losers. I’ll admit Calipari’s schools have had trouble but I like the guy. I don’t think he needs to cheat to recruit players.
I’m about to get killed for this comment lol I’m not completely serious but talk of cheating in college ball is just trite stuff.
