He can definitely do things that I cannot, and never could have.
Itâs 71-66 now. Might not have adjusted for UCLAâs win before?
Thatâs correct; it hadnât.
So Gonzaga had the smallest halftime lead in the four games today.
Yep â it hadnât. But thatâs why it was early!
Gee almost as if Kenpom and vegas use the same metrics.
UCLA has jumped 30 spots on KenPom. The entire PAC 12 is flying up, even the idle ones. Stanford and Utah have moved up 20 points from not playing. USC is up to 6 now and could move up the way this game is going. Wild stuff.
I would prefer that UCLA not score 23 points in any given five minute period on Tuesday.
25 in a half, though, works for me.
(To be fair, Nate Oats gets some credit for some of these points, thanks to extending the game well after it was decided).
Wow thatâs insane. Similarly Michigan has dropped from 2 going into the tourney (or maybe 3rd) to 4th right now i guess due to the Big Tens performance.
That said Michiganâs gap between themselves and Baylor is very very slim
Given that the Zags and USC/Oregon are pacific time, Michigan/UCLA has to be the first game Tuesday right? I mean I know UCLA is west coast too but Michigan is the only EST left in the tournament.
Also, all the E8 games are at Lucas Oil right?
Yes, and also Baylor and Houston performed better relative to their KenPom spread in the first two rounds than Michigan did.
FWIW, Michigan probably needs to win Tuesday to maintain their advantage over Illinois for the Big Ten KenPom title, which is something theyâve never won.
Pac-12 making the Pac-12 look terrible
How humiliating for the Big XII. Plus, having three SWC teams in the Elite Eight and only one of them is a Big XII teamâŚ
And if you watched what this Oregon team did to IowaâŚ
Just what is this USC??
I wouldnât overreact. Iowa doesnât play defense. USC is playing a zone that Oregon doesnât seem prepared for. I suspect thatâs most of the difference.
(Also, this is another nail in the coffin of the âOregon plays great defenseâ announcer takes from the Oregon / Iowa game).
UCLA only packed for 11 days
The fighting Fran McCaffreys are always a tournament exit waiting to happen.
Yes.
I know weâre all joking about the PAC12 being godlike but their reps have put up a stunning level of performance. USC and Oregon obliterated Kansas and Iowa respectively. Oregon St. handily won against a Loyola team that did the same to Illinois, UCLA just went into overtime due to a buzzer beater and dominated the SEC champions.
They werenât just mildly underseeded, they were severely underseeded. As far as weâre concerned UCLA is pretty much a 3-4 seed right now.
Iowa fans are probably complaining somewhere that they didnât play âthis Oregon teamâ - except that they play no defense so they never would have played âthisâ Oregon team.
