2020 Recruiting Notes

Burnett, Scooby and JAR all were second team All-Atlanta and all will have offers to Michigan (as soon as JAR visits like he is planning on)

Math — and past experience — says Michigan won’t land all 3, but pick up one of those to go with Zeb and that’s the backbone of a solid recruiting class, IMO. Especially when integrated with last year’s remaining freshmen and this year’s incoming recruits

A little taste of his athleticism

Ethan Morton is committing on Thursday @8:45 per his Twitter. :crossed_fingers:

he is going to purdue

Interesting. His Michigan interest surprisingly never really seemed to pick up. Purdue would be a good fit for him too.

that’s fine…he’s way overrated at his current ranking. he’s a borderline 100 guy.

Johnny Davis picked up Iowa and Marquette offers today. He’s really making a name for himself on the UAA

Had recent video of Adam Miller in the last recruiting roundup. Would definitely expect him to become a priority.

Does he play the two? If not, would he come with Zeb in the fold?

That’s what he is. He’s a two guard. It would be pretty interesting to have a backcourt with two lefties.

Was going to say the same thing about two lefties, would be a very dynamic backcourt.

Also curious of the type of big man JH goes after, does he target more athletic, projectable bigs?

I suppose we’ll find out soon enough. It’ll be interesting to see if stretch 5’s remain the main focus.

What I wanna hear w/Juwan’s first recruiting offer(s) is that he isn’t waiting until they visit.

Beilein’s no offer until they’re on campus credo always bothered me. It made sense for Beilein and that was enough of a reason to accept it.

Why did it bother you? And why did it make sense just for Beilein? Can I guess it’s because you believe that isn’t how you corral the 5 stars?

A lot of that will just end up being semantics. We don’t know if Howard will offer basically everyone like a Tom Crean or be more judicious. Might just end up harder to tell who are Michigan’s priorities.

Another name to follow from the Chicago area is DJ Steward. 6’3 or 6’4 SG for Meanstreets/Whitney Young who’s been on a tear all AAU. His stat line currently is 23.9 PPG, 4.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.6 steals per game on a shooting line of 51/40/84.
