So no MTE now?
Yes, I believe the plan is still to play the conference tourney in Chicago.
Donât think so. Would have to have heard by now if U-M was setting something like that up. I assume the logistics were a big pain to host their own.
Gotcha. So this is the schedule? These 5 non-con and 20 Big ten game, right?
Yep, 99% sure thatâs the case.
I wonder if the Big ten tries to get more than 2 December league games in this year⌠Certainly seems like Michigan would have the schedule room. Not sure about other teamsâ schedules however.
Yeah, I wouldnât be surprised if league play just starts after the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.
Pretty weak OOC schedule. Was hoping they could fit in at least one marquee matchup. I realize it is much tougher to pull off these days, but other programs are finding a way.
And no MTE? Again, I get the logistical challenges, but not having those extra games is disappointing.
Of course, I will just be happy to see Michigan hoops being played so these arenât huge complaints.
I would have liked playing in MSUâs MTE if we couldnât figure out the logistics to do it ourselves
And as far as I can tell, thatâs just a game against Notre Dame in East Lansing and they both just host Western Michigan too.
Michiganâs non-conference schedule lacks much upside but take care of business and it wonât hurt anything in such a crazy year. There are going to be a lot of opportunities to pick up quality wins in Big Ten play.
Iâm not really expecting much as far as a season goes. Just going to be thankful to watch a handful games and see a couple of these guys suit up in the Maize and Blue one last time.
I canât imagine the selection committee will put much weight into the nonconference.
Michigan is an odd case because with their experience youâd think they should be ready to roll sooner rather than later. But nearly everyone is playing a different role or is new to the team.
Oakland is not necesarily going to be well-drilled when they show up in Ann Arbor in a week and a half.
Will probably be a good opportunity to try out some Brandon Johns small ball since Oakland is gonna be running 4 guards and a forward most of the time. Although, also Dickinson might score 30 in the post.
Somehow weâll be up 17 with 8 minutes to play, get really casual and end up sweating through the free throw game at the end and win by 4
Would bet on the latter more likely than Johns getting tons of run.
The NC State game is officially cancelled.
Where are you seeing that?
Iâm curious for the wording of the official announcement, because if itâs cancelled outright, it means weâve found a replacement game. Otherwise, my understanding is that weâd look to postpone and potentially reschedule.
Norlander reported that it is canceled.
Honestly, itâs hard to see a time when it could be made up when you look at NCSU and Michiganâs schedules.
No press release though.
