i couldn’t agree more
If he was a 2yr scholarship hold or a “sit 1, play 1” then I can see a lot more of the hesitation
Because he stinks. I wouldn’t be mad if he came because it most likely will be an empty slot, but I genuinely do not care if he comes. Would do nothing to make our team better imo.
why does he stink? 13.7 points per game at a division 1 level does not “stink”.
He did it on a 9 win team with a 44% TS%. Relative to Big Ten basketball, he is not good.
scored 16 points on Michigan last year. Michigan was regarded as one of the best defenses in the country, he definitely does not stink.
I kind of fall in the middle here… Not a lot of risk, but expecting DJ Williams to suddenly become an efficient player while jumping from the A10 to the Big Ten seems a bit foolish.
The downside would be why ever he left Illinois and why it didn’t work for him there. Maybe that stuff is all fixed, but that’s the risk.
right, I wouldn’t expect him to come in and average 13 points again. I am more saying if we have that extra scholarship open for immediate grad transfer, DJ would give Livers and Johns great relief mins and push them in practice.
Bryn had a 2 year old child and sister with health problems back in East Lansing.
The ease of football transfers was just crazy. Glad they tightened this up.
Filing this, too, under “Believe It When I See It”.
At this point it’s a pretty huge file.
I gotta hand it to you, you’re at least very consistent in your old school ways
Thank you?
IMO, I’d want players to get paid but the old transfer rules (with an exception for head coaches leaving). IMO, completely free transfers is bad for the sport, just like it would be in any other sports league.
I can understand that. I kinda go back and forth on it. If players could leave freely whenever they want, that would overall make the product worse I think. But then I think that normal students can leave whenever they want. Then I realize they’re not normal students. Maybe if you leave before you’ve completed 3 years you have to sit out a year, but after that you don’t have to sit out. Or exceptions for coaches leaving like you said isn’t a bad idea either.
Delaware freshman guard Ithiel Horton has entered the transfer portal, source told ESPN. Averaged 13.2 points and shot 40.9 percent from 3 his first year with the Blue Hens.

Seems like this is a never-ending opening and closing of the transfer portal…
Musselman doubling down on transfers at Arkansas.
Cleveland State losing basically its entire roster. Hard life for a low major.
Don’t think either of these guys would be targets for Michigan as sit out guys.
