2019 Transfer Market

Well if this happens I doubt it’s Jalen Wilson to KU so that would leave us vs. NC. Assuming he at least gives Juwan a chance.

We’ve said it for a few other guys that UM was connected with: Moss is from Chicago. Obviously that tweet doesn’t bode well for anyone but Kansas, but how great would Moss fit in Michigan’s hole at the 2? Career 39% from deep.

Who was the other target? I’m drawing a complete blank?

Justin Pierce.

Given the available playing time at Michigan next season, it’s surprising that we haven’t landed a grad transfer yet.

Is it mostly due to academics?

Seems like there are plenty of other first year coaches out there landing big name graduate rentals.

Just a guess but there could be admissions deadlines for most, if not all of the grad programs, so landing a grad transfer at this point won’t happen.

Apparently a grad transfer too.

Has decent shooting numbers, but watching his highlights, he doesn’t look very athletic. Again, better than having an open scholarship, but I’m not sure he could guard major conference wings.

Seems pretty Justin Pierce-ish to me. I vote yes

It’s worth a shot. At worst on offense, he looks like he’d be around a 35% spot up shooter. Defense, who knows.

Seems like a less-athletic Pierce, I would agree. Solid shooter though, it seems. Plus for a year it’d be better than an extra scholarship.

got my vote too. low risk and shore up the depth at 4. He is going to be 23 this fall.

We could probably hide him a bit with Johns or Livers as the other forward covering the better offensive forward, but yeah, might get picked on in pick and roll and switches situations.

This guy seems like he has the range for the new 3 pt line, and we’re currently a Johns or Livers injury from either Castleton, Nunez or Bajema starting at forward, which seems like a lot to ask from any of those 3 (for entirely different reasons).

It’s more than that–even if everyone is healthy, and even if we get Franz Wagner, who is guarding (or being guarded by) Brandon Johns in practice? If Johns starts, and to me, his ability to do so and play well is perhaps the biggest key (aside from being injury free) to our being a team with a higher ceiling, Livers is playing the 3, and you want the two of them to get used to being on the floor together, so you don’t want that player to be Livers, at least on a consistent basis. That leaves a guy ill-suited to the task, whether it be guys too small (Nunez, Bajema), guys who can’t go outside (Davis), or guys we don’t want to move and take reps away from their position going forward (Castleton). If Scanlon, or somebody like him, gives us no more on the floor than did Jaaron Simmons, but pushes Johns in practice, that’s enough reason to get him–if he can give us some real contributions as a third forward, that would be icing on the cake.

Scanlon would be a real nice fit on this roster. Maybe can’t put the ball on the deck a whole lot in the B1G but he at least hasn’t been just a shooter in the Patriot League. Steal rate is good enough that maybe he’s not a terrible option guarding 3’s and it’s not like there’s a ton of wings who really get to the basket in the B1G anyway.

Since we dont have beliein system anymore so if he came …he wouldn’t be playing out of position I suppose. I thinks a 2/3 with potential to play small ball four. I wish I could see him live but based on film I believe you are correct but he can play 2 …thinks he play 2 for his current club sometimes as well?

Do we know if Michigan has reached out to DJ Williams?

Isaiah Moss and Jalen Wilson are good enough to bump a team to number 1?

LOL I was thinking the same thing.
