Who knows what the 4 spot will look like for Michigan? He could fit in…
Ummmm thinking Livers? And honestly do not see a huge drop off from Charles.
Depending on how the class finishes, I could see Livers getting a lot of minutes at SF. I think Livers is better at PF, but our best lineup could be Johns at PF with Livers at SF.
It’s hard to speculate because other than Bajema and Seventh, we really haven’t heard much about recruiting.
It’s hard to speculate especially since we have absolutely no idea how Juwan wants to play, or what qualities he wants in what positions (ie for Beilein the 3 and 4 were essentially the same - I think assuming that holds is probably wrong). We don’t know where Johns or Livers fits on a Juwan team.
Can we collectively ignore the Seventh Woods chatter? Crossing my fingers we never see that guy in Maize and Blue
Whoa. Why would Grimes be on the verge of leaving for the NBA and instead decides that he will sit out a year and not play when he could be a starter next year for a top 5 team?
Maybe that draft feedback was rough.
Whao, he is definitely a take.
Any chance of us going after Kerry Blackshear?
Grimes was really really bad for KU this year. But he’s young and was a very impressive prep player. Would guess he’s technically a sit one play one. Maybe you get another year out of him if he is just ok.
Seems like talk is that he wants to go somewhere where he is promised to play PG.
I would say it’s crazy to think he’d want to come here with Teske around, but maybe Juwan could sell him on playing the 4 (literally the same size as he was) and becoming a great, not just good, perimeter and high post player here to improve his NBA stock.
Teske-Blackshear-Livers-Simpson would be a great defensive group even if the other starter is a freshman or tiny Dejulius, and Blackshear shot the ball better over the course of the season from 3 and the FT line. We’d be slower, but could play a more grinding system.
Interesting that the new rules and increased # of draft declarations with subsequent return to school has led to a second wave of transfers.
Gotta believe Michigan takes a look at some of these guys. The 2020 recruiting doesn’t need to be huge if you grab someone that sits one year and is available to play with those 2020 freshman.
That said, there’s a certain ring to having 5 scholarships available in Juwan’s first real class…
(that’s tongue in cheek…obviously you take a guy that you think can contribute)
I like that.
There doesn’t appear to be any update on Jaevin Cumberland to Cincy since Jarron announced his return earlier in the week. Is it possible Jaevin’s interest in us reignited with the coaching change?
The fact that Cincy is recruiting Alabama grad transfer wing Tevin Mack (when they already are very strong on the wing) could indicate that Jaevin wasn’t the sure-thing many thought he would be.
Jaevin to Cincy could also be a done deal already and he’s just taking his time with visiting/committing.
