Y’all are crazy for wanting Winston to come back. If him and Tillman leave, MSU is a bubble team. Their best player would be Langford coming off an injury and he can’t create. They would have to hope like hell that Rocket Watts signs because nobody is going to create on that team otherwise. Can you imagine Foster Loyer playing 35 mpg next year? Sign me up.
I’d like to see our boys get another crack at them. I have faith z is coming back with a vengeance, kid is a winner and I believe he will bring his A Game next year in the matchup if it occurs.
I can understand not liking TT because they booty-whipped Michigan but what is so unlikable about UVA?
I’m praying Winston leaves but I don’t think he does. His stock won’t be higher than it is now. I’m willing to wager he’d get drafted this year. Tillman partially plays great because of his chemistry with Winston but he will return next year I’m not counting on that one at all. If Winston and Tillman are back with all the other returnees MSU is the early favorite next year imo.
I mean, I get what you’re saying but that was also said before each of the last two MSU games and it didn’t come true.
I never want to see Winston again. He owned Simpson three times this year and I have no reason to think that will change. Kid is special
X lost the battle with Winston this year but won it last year. I can live with that. Bring on Loyer.
I dont like UVA’s style of play…sure it’s effective, and they grind teams down, but it’s just such a slog most of the time. Not saying they are a bad team, but between them and TT, it’s almost a mirror image of black n blue basketball. It’s just my opinion, I give them props for making it work, but I hate it.
Now 19 consecutive years a non-Big Ten team will win the title.
Izzo already assuming everyone else is back.
Of course they will. Michigan got 10 years combined from Morris, Burke, GR3, Stauskas and Wilson. Average career for an MSU player under Izzo is like 5.5 years.
I’d feel differently if we got spanked each time but in all three matchups we were up in the second half and if I remember correctly up late in two.
If Poole and iggy come back , I’d like our chances a lot . I believe our squad will develop more as well giving Michigan more weapons and depth. This years roster was 6 deep and had flaws and was right there every game.
I believe eli has turned a corner mentally and will be a really nice/reliable guard. Teske will be a monster , castleton will be at least what teske was his sophomore year imo if not more, johns was a complete non factor and I believe hes going to make a huge splash next year, ddj will be a nice guard for 5-10 a game.
Our roster has more upside imo than theirs. Plus who has a better track record of developing guys?
I’m not just saying this because I’m a Michigan fan but I’d rather be us than them.
On their end Langford is a wild card. He could take them next level and Henry will be special imo. They will be very good but I’m confident next years Michigan squad will be too.
You think Michigan is a top 3 team every year though. You are an extreme homer.
I actually think their offense functions better without him. But they’ll need him to spread the floor next year, not so much anything else IMO. Langford and Ward going out for Ed Izzo to rely on Winston ball screens with Tillman and Goins. Which made them crazy efficient. If I’m an MSU fan, I’d be hoping Ward leaves so Izzo isn’t even tempted to play him close to 20 mpg.
But I do think Henry will be a very good player. We will see how big of a jump he’ll make in year two. I think their current freshmen sans Loyer will all end up with good careers when it’s all said and done
I’ve thought we were a top team the last few years because we were…
If you check back about 5 years ago I thought we had upside but I wasn’t touting us. Also I’d buy that argument if I did that with all the teams I root for, but I don’t. It’s just the Michigan bball program of late, because it’s been very good and I don’t see it ending.
Agreed but that’s my point. Mcquaud and goins were huge cogs in this machine and Mcquaid in particular was a huge thorn in our sides. He’s gone now and Langford is a wild card. He could be boom or bust.
Watts could come in and keep it rolling but who knows, I think Cassius and Izzo just blew their shot. We’ll see how the roster shakes out for them.
MSU led the last ten minutes of each of the first two games. Only in the BTT title game did Michigan hold a late lead. Also it’s starting to feel like Poole is going to leave.
We shall see if Langford fits well enough to keep it rolling. Either way they did their thing and took all three games with great poise and clutch plays.
I think goins and mcquaid will be greatly missed. I’d actually like to see Simpson get another shot at Cassius. I guess I don’t see what’s wrong with that. To be the best you have to beat the best. Sure they could sweep michigan again or maybe Michigan sweeps then , That’s why you play the games. Every years different.
I think they blew it because they were the best of the remaining FF teams Imo. They’ll have a great shot to get back next year, but it could be Kentucky, Duke and UNC next year alongside them. This was the year for them to win it and they didn’t come away with it.
But I think they will win their third straight regular season conference title next year if Tillman & Winston are back. Cassius is just so good. It’s like if Burke came back for his junior year. If they can get solid shooting again, they’re a top 3 team nationally IMO.
We could be very good as well but we’ve got a lot more question marks than them
