2017-18 Bracketology

I remember seeing that Strength of Record ended up correlating to the committee’s seeding very well. Michigan is currently #10 in SOR.

Has anyone else heard that or is that just in my head?

I think this one is more up to date

got mine from here: https://extra.ncaa.org/solutions/rpi/SitePages/Home.aspx
updated through 2/21.

Hopefully PSU can sneak into Q1. Would be nice to pick up another win or two in Q1 before the season ends. The resume would start to look pretty good

Will help Penn State get into Q1 if they do the right thing and beat Nebraska

Yeah, the NCAA one is up to date with records and things but not all rankings.

Here’s the latest SOR:

Gentlemen, I made two bets this evening at my local pub:

1: I have the field vs. Duke winning the whole thing straight up. $500

  1. Michigan makes it further than Duke. $100.

Two separate bets with two different individuals. I made the second bet feeling like I was playing with house money. Would you do the same?

Man who made the first bet? Duke isn’t even the favorite and they are giving you the entire field on a $500 bet?

RPI emphasis for the quadrants is killing the Big Ten. Northwestern on the road is a Q3 game!? NW is not good, but they aren’t the 140th best team. I believe it was Bart Torvik that said the hardest Q2 game possible was @ Penn St and the hardest Q3 game possible was at Wisconsin. Although the Wisconsin game has for now moved up to Q2, I imagine the NW game has replaced it as the toughest Q3 game.

That’s what I don’t get. Why do they come up with a super-average, or average-of-averages, and then NOT use that # - but only 1/6 of it - for quadrants? Doesn’t make sense.

Duke mega fan had a few too many and got a little ahead of himself…It’s very hard to back out of a bet when there are women around…

This guy has the highest ranking on the BracketMatrix over the last 5 years, and the last 3 in particular he’s been spot on. He has Michigan as the 5 with #4 Tennessee and #1 Xavier. Yes please.

I’ll take this one too. 6 seed. St. Bonaventure, Cincinnati, Auburn, Xavier to get to a final 4.

Is all the positivity making anyone else nervous? Dylan is comparing Poole to McGary, people who wanted JB fired last year want to give him a lifetime contract, and we seem to be a fairly comfortable distance from the dreaded 8-seed with even more upward mobility in sight. If Inmycourt doesn’t predict doom soon I might freak out.

Reckless stupidity is not always the best look around women tho

At least around the women I’d prefer to have into me.
