Bruce Pearl is like Thad Matta…absolutely fantastic recruiters, extremely average coach…never seem to do anything of value with the talent they bring in

You have to be kidding regarding Matta. His track record at OSU is absolutely superb
I would agree, Matta is a very good coach in addition to being a great recruiter.
I guess i look at what beilein does and wonder why somebody with that much talent year after year isn’t always top 5 or top 10 year round competing for national championships…he has more top 25-50 players than probably 8 B1G teams combined.
I look at this year, and a year when the B1G is terrible and they have multiple seniors sitting at 6-4 in league play.
Thats really really bad
They have as much talent as anybody in the country but without dangelo russello they would be as bad as michigan this year
I think you are overestimating their talent a bit. None of Thompson, Scott, or Amir Williams are stars. Neither is Loving. Russell certainly is.
The team with Sullinger, Diebler, Craft and Buford was very good, so was the team led by Evan Turner, and of course the Oden/Conley team was great. I’d also say they overachieved two years ago, making the Elite Eight with Thomas and Craft being their best players.
It’s hard to be elite every year, but his winning percentage at OSU is exceptional and they are reloading in a big way next year.

Confusing post???

Other than a national runner-up, two final fours, and five Big Ten championships in 12 years
Why would my post be confusing? In response to the assertion that Matta isn’t a great coach because this year’s team isn’t awesome, I argued that the talent on this year’s team isn’t elite (other than Russell), and when he has had better talent, Matta has done very well.
New film on Murray below. Really impressed with his shooting off the bounce
Orangeville Prep (CAN) G Jamal Murray scores 25 PTS in a 86-73 win over Wilbraham & Monson @AI_OvillePrep http://t.co/xpIj6bFNIX

Tyus Battle scored 12 points vs. Linden, nine in the first quarter. Think Phil Colicchio wrote his name on the chalkboard a few times?

2016 guard Josh Langford was as good as I've ever seen him last night. Scored efficiently and at all three levels. Put up 34 points in win

Pretty sure this is the game that Beilein was at last week. Also, it must be nice to play with Thon Maker…
@Mgobluegr: John Beilein visited Madison (AL) Academy to watch 2016 5 star Joshua Langford today per his father. Langford is a big time Michigan target

This explains why Meyer sat in on the conference call for JB. JB putting in work on the recruiting trail, I love it!
What are the odds we can get one of Jaylen Brown, Bruce Brown or Murray for 15?
For 16, is Amir Coffey a serious target, have heard us mentioned a few times with him. Also might Maverick Rowan be a new wing target, great shooter top 30 recruit who was committed to Pitt. See we are now on his list via Scout
There are a lot of variables, so it’s kind of hard to say. As far as I know, neither Bruce Brown nor Murray have decided whether to reclassify. For various reasons, I think the odds are low that we add any of the 3 you mentioned.
It’s possible (although probably unlikely) that we won’t have anymore scholarships available anyways. If no one transfers and Caris and Max come back, we will be full for '15. That being said, I bet that we’ll have 2 extra scholarships available after things work themselves out after the season. Unfortunately, though, I don’t think we are the favorites for any of those highly-touted wings.
If we lose a big man, I really think Levi Cook becomes a priority for our staff. I just can’t imagine going into next year with 2 scholarship bigs on the roster.
Coffey is out for the year with a torn ACL. Tore it the second or third game of the year (the team I coach plays his HS on Friday). I know UNC was up during the fall and Minnesota has had him on campus numerous times. Comes from a really athletic family. Dad, Richard, played at Minnesota. His two sisters play at Marist and Northwestern. I have true read on his recruitment. His sister that is at Northwestern wanted to create her own path by getting out of the Twin Cities. Amir could be the same way.
UM is “strong” with Battle and has been in “constant contact” per Daddy Battle
Love Langford Love Murray and as said b 4 think he could play the point. Love what I see of Coffey, especially since his jumper looks Jalen Rose like…
