I think there may be a chance that he does sign late based on his offers. When I first brought Daniels to the board he was essentially an unranked nobody. Fast forward 5 months later, it’s obvious he’s starting to get looks because he can play, but his offers are from UTEP, Utah, Depaul, and Kansas State (just offered today)…I think UM can snag him from one of those schools, but it’s only a matter of time before a plethora of high majors start showing interest as he will most likely be one if the best available wings after the early signing period assuming he doesn’t commit prior.
I think Minnesota offered him as well (earlier this summer). Nice eye MattD - seeing more and more athleticism in Daniels’ film. If he’s a late sign, I’m sure teams will come calling as pieces fall into or out of place.

Good call - Minny did offer, actually I think they were ahead of the game in identifying Daniels prior to the others

I live in MN and follow the Gophers recruiting a decent amount and haven’t heard much about Daniels since early July. I think a lot of programs cooled on him late in the recruiting period (a complete assumption) because we didn’t see a lot of reports on any of the recruiting sites.

Definitely a lot of positive reports/exposure for Daniels since April. Which explains the rankings boost
If we are still pursuing a wing for 16, and aren't able to land one of Coffey or Bridges ( let's be honest it is highly unlikely we land either), really hoping the staff shows some interest in Devon Daniels. I think Ibi Watson has some potential as an upperclassmen, but his game is not college ready at this point, and he will definitely need some development. I think Daniels has a college ready body and athletic ability right now, and he's got an above average handle and passing ability for a 6'5 wing. What most people don't realize is that Daniels shoots it better from deep, at least in terms of percentage. New film on Daniels below
