So we can pretty much throw the playing time and $ excuse out of the window for this particular situation. Much less time available at MSU with Harris, Ahrens, McQuaid all in front. In all honesty, I really do wonder what is so unattractive about UM/Beilien? I have an idea, but obviously nobody knows what is going through the mind of a recruit and their family…in any event, it is so frustrating to see recruit after recruit visit us early, seemingly have high interest, be a good fit, only for us to disappear within 6 months.

Damn. Knew it was only a matter of time before schools starting giving this kid a hard look. I’m amazed it took this long, this kid has talent. Sucks that his old man played at UNM, that’s tough to beat.

I actually think Ahrens is quite a bit better than his rankings, but I don’t see him or McQuaid being ahead of Murray for playing time.
If MSU landing Murray this year eliminates them from the Langford sweepstakes next year, I think I’d be ok with that. Murray’s good and I hate to think of State getting a player like him, but I like Langford more. By all accounts MSU is a real contender for Langford.

That’s not really the point, we literally have NOBODY in front if Caris leaves but we still can’t seem to appeal to a guy that would be a perfect fit. It’s perplexing

Oh. I didn’t realize the point was for you to complain about JB not landing a recruit, despite the fact that we haven’t been a serious contender for said recruit for some time. Carry on.

Much the same that I didn’t realize the point was for you to deflect the post into a narrative that this is a silver lining somehow. Pathetic
Since Murray is a PG, that would seem to impact Winston’s recruitment by MSU.

Don’t think he’s a PG. Much better fit as an off guard in my opinion.

Your weekly whoa-is-Michigan meltdowns are entertaining, so please don’t ever stop.
This is the 2016 wing topic. My comment is relevant to our 2016 wing recruiting. I clearly stated that I don’t want Murray to go to MSU. But if he does, they’ll have Harris, Murray, Bess, Ellis, Ahrens, and McQuaid as wings. Izzo will still go after Langford, but he might not be as high of a priority. Izzo still plays with 2 traditional bigs. If they don’t get Swanigan, they’ll need to add bodies after Costello leaves.
Jefferson went for a 20pt/20reb game last night.
Hopefully we have good news here

Dingo, I know you aren’t at liberty to go in further detail, but can you confirm whether this involves reclassification?

The post does include some information regarding reclassification. Dylan, please advise/edit/delete if this is too much.
Dingo - I think you are safe. It’s out in the public now. Great news if true. Seems MSU is the constant, with Oregon, UM, Syracuse in the mix.
Canadian high school guard Jamal Murray plans on re-classifying to the 2015 class. Michigan & Michigan State are in the lead. Oregon on list

I’m personally relatively unchanged in my expectations for Jamal with that tweet/news, but it’s nice to know we’re still involved.
I have a hard time counting Oregon out of this one. Oregon assistant Mike Mennenga is the former director of CIA Bounce and they obviously took Dillon Brooks last year in a very similar reclassification situation.

On the other hand, Oregon just landed Tyler Dorsey, which may explain
I thought U of I was a favorite if he reclassified?
MSU has 9 returning scholarship players, plus 3 signed for next year. I know they are really going hard after Swanigan, but wouldn’t have room for both unless someone leaves. I wonder if it’s a situation where they just take the first one to commit.
