it is pretty obvious to all observers that CDC guideline was not followed. What bugs me the most is that NO single statement from the University admitted this and NO one came forward to take the responsibility, which reflects horribly on the leadership within AD and the University.
Warde was busy not extending Harbaughās contract.
(Iām going to stop myself before. Letās just hope the AD is from this point forward fully committed to both protecting the kids as well as protecting their opportunities to compete and reach their on-field goals)
Itās good to stop. But itās also hard to stop. I get it
From trusted source John U Bacon:
I simply tell myself that the team will stay healthy for the duration of the season after the pause, and while not ideal, February and March is going to be jam packed with U-M hoops.
Otherwise, specific to the points above, I wouldnāt stop, either. But yes, good to stop and circle next Thursday.
You and BigBoutros could not have orchestrated that better! Had a good, much-needed laugh before I began to wonder whether that woman wasnāt placing herself in the line of fire for a lot of criticism.
EDIT: I wonder if you were referring to this op-ed piece, Hack. Seems to ascribe the brunt of the blame in what is pretty clearly a highly contradictory bunch of measures to the health department (I get that the failure to follow protocols on the trip to GB is another matter):
Boutros sure did open the door for that, and I am pleased with myself that the word stop reminded me of it. Please tell him the checkās in the mail.
Not that piece, though I did read it and it makes some good points. Nicholas Stoll: One way or another, a two-week quarantine was necessary | The Michigan Daily.
Thanks to the posters sending these links from the Michigan Daily. The writing is consistently better (and braver) than the big papers from Detroit. Finally ponied up a donation, which I should have done months ago.
This is a really good piece. Basically eloquently states what some of us here have been saying. Thereās no utility to only shutting down the AD for 2 weeks.
This will be the fully mainstream view in a couple of weeks. I had been a pretty ardent defender of the state admin before this, so itās super annoying that they had to do something so stupid that hurts people for no gain.
So weāre gonna lose the regular season title because we only get like 15-16 games in?
Is that leaping to conclusions? Might be a silver lining in not resuming with the Illini, no?
So now even fewer days in which to get to 20 games? Wonderful.
Still nonsensical to me that this team ended up missing 1/3 of their conference schedule without ever having a player/coach test positive.
If Iām Michigan I hang a banner no matter what
I was told playing a game in 4 days after sitting in your house for 2 weeks was no big deal
Big ups to the careless people who caused this whole mess!
Last day to play games is March 8th. If our first game is on the 18th, then we have 19 days to play 11 games.
We are going to have more than 2 games unplayed at the very least.
