I blame the school as much as I blame Adidas. Michigan can dictate what the jerseys look like. IU and UCLA are Adidas, and their uniforms remain mostly unchanged.
Do you remember those Nike bingo chip uniforms we wore in the late 90s? Those were pretty bad. I do hope we go back to Nike for recruiting reasons, but Nike is not immune to terrible uniforms.
I’d also like to see the fab five uniforms become our regular uniforms. I like the Cazzie Russell ones that we wore last year, as well.
Im a fan of the all white, but the all maize with mustard yellow/orange accents was just insanely ugly. It actually made watching the game less enjoyable.
Yep, I blame Michigan. I think L’Ville have really cool uniforms. UCLA and IU do what they want. It’s about UM being lazy and either not communicating with Adidas and/or just not caring.
Those don’t really do it for me, either. Maybe not as tacky as pinstripes on a basketball jersey but they’re pretty vanilla. They look like practice jerseys.

I do think there’s something to your post. Michigan may not have all of the say but I think they have some input.
Except those jerseys actually have matching trim on top and bottom. Adidas seems to love jerseys that don’t match and it always looks like summer league garbage.
Seriously, just bring back the basic Fab 5 Era uniforms…who the hell wears a multicolored stripe/block on one leg of the shorts. The maize shorts wouldn’t be all that bad if the stripe/block was congruent on both legs.
How about these? http://www.umhoops.com/2015/02/26/report-michigan-wear-color-block-uniforms-postseason/
I think the dual colored shorts work well for some of the schools, like Kansas but I just don’t think it looks good with our color scheme. I do like the big block M and the logo on the waistband. But I wish it was just one color.
