Sure, if he gets a two way deal that’s not bad at all. It is an if, however. 60 of them in total with a lot of competition. The article wasn’t just about Poole though, it was about the G-League (specifically mentioning the non-two way salary) and overseas in general. I think it very much overestimates the monetary advantage of leaving your scholarship for a generic G-League contract and a middle or lower tier overseas contract. Advertising the G-League plainly as “$35,000 more than you make in college!” Seems pretty disingenuous, more equivocation than anything.
Poole could very much end up in the NBA and laughing his way to the bank, I’m just saying wait, that’s kinda a dumb way for that article to word things.
I do think it’s funny JP is confident he will go pro yet is trying to get money via cameo. Seems like a broke move to do when you should be working on your game
It depends on the league. Every country (pretty much) has its own league structure, usually containing multiple league levels. The great majority of these don’t pay well. Only a handful of top-level leagues do, and competition for their spots is fierce.
Probably an outside shot that Charles gets a combine invite, but I would definitely say he will be in a good spot to get a G-League Combine invite. That is an event that is receiving more attention, more invites, etc. this year.
So it’s not like the players are going to say that they don’t miss playing for you, right Tom? Did they go on to tell you that they get through the pain by hugging their cash-filled pillows at night while resting up to compete against the best on the planet in their craft?
