LSU this year is a good one or any game past February in 2018
Yeah going back that far is enjoyable. But I’ve done it too much at this point. I agree with you, it doesn’t get any better than the Kansas game (Burke), and more recently, the Houston game (Poole). That Houston end of game, I didn’t even watch it because I gave up and was throwing a fit outside. So I always enjoy watching it happen again over and over
Haha that’s rough. I got so pissy after MAAR missed the (deceptively weird angled) layup that I turned it off, but ended up changing my mind just in time.
The Florida blowout and Syracuse Final Four win from the 2013 tourney are nearly as enjoyable to me as the Kansas game. I mean that Kansas game was fairly depressing until the last 3 minutes.
Other fun ones are the 6 straight games in 2017 following the plane skidding off the runway, 4 to win the Big Ten tourney and then the Oklahoma State shootout win and then beating Pitino in the 2nd round. 2018 MSU and Purdue BTT wins are quite nice. The 2018 TAMU blowout was fun to watch (at least the first half til it got totally out of hand). November 2018 annihilation of Villanova on the road was fun. November 2019 Battle for Atlantis was 3 awesome wins in a row.
For well played but painful losses, the 2014 tourney loss to Kentucky is tough to beat. Such an epic game to watch.
But those last four or so minutes of regulation and the 5 minutes of overtime are absolute heaven. Not just Trey in the zone, but McGary wreaking havoc and GR3 jumping the lanes for absolutely beautiful breakaway dunks.
I was doing the same thing this week. I watched both the LSU and Florida State games.
The LSU game made me even happier that both Brooks and Johns are returning this year. it also made me wonder if we will have anyone fill the Brown role of instant offense off the bench.
Watching the FSU game last year, I didn’t really appreciate just how great we played. Wow. Michigan put on a clinic at both ends of the court.
That 20 minute section of the Wisconsin game was rather enjoyable.
Oh crap, Bufkin is like 5’4" in that vid.
I particularly enjoy the 2018(?) Maryland game with Livers throwing the inbound pass to MAAR for the game winner. Some nostalgic characters in there that are enjoyable.
I’m sorry but that Kansas game is the greatest moment in my sports fandom ever, in any sport. Really, those depressing moments literally make the win that much more memorable. I remember pacing around the Duderstadt just completely bewildered that Michigan managed to comeback. When Burke scored I stood up, silently screaming, trying to catch a glance from anyone who was witnessing that moment only to find that half the library was jumping up and down trying not to make any noise.
The LSu from last season was soooo cathartic. Buckets on buckets from both teams, just heart pounding action for 40. Both OSU games from last season were similar. The Wisconsin game as mentioned above was pure dominance the likes of which we saw in 2013 against Florida.
My point about the Kansas game is that most of it kinda sucks for a rewatch. The end was spectacular.
Yep, the last 5 and OT are fantastic. Up until that, it was UM hanging on for dear life. Wasn’t really two championship team trading blows.
One of the most fun games I’ve seen Michigan play aesthetically was that loss to Purdue when they had all the seniors plus Carsen Edwards - like 92-90 on the VAR when Rahk lost it out of bounds.
That was a phenomenally well played game until that terrible call. Yes the ball went off Rahk because he got fouled. But they can’t review the foul and can only review who last touched it.
Plays like that happen all the time. Refs don’t want to call all the fouls so they just give the ball to the team that “deserves” it and carry on. Replay rules ruined it.
Thought that was Matthews. But yes, amazing game.
Yeah it was definitely that flavor of call where they would have once called it out on the guy who stripped the ball and given Michigan the ball back.
Matthews was the prior Purdue game at Crisley.
And just before - the 2018 game in Breslin where Mo put us on his back (RIP Nick Ward’s ankles)
The 2014 game in Breslin where Stauskas carried us is another classic.
An even more extreme version of that was 2018 Houston. A very blah game for 39 minutes and change, close but not that well-played - and then an amazing shot for the win.
