team option for next season, so it’s basically a deal through season end, then the Lakers can keep him on the terms if they want.

So he MAY be back as a true junior

Didn’t go great

2/10 For 7 points, 1 assist, 3 turnovers

If the Lakers try to punt a game again, Bronny actually had a positive data point - 5/10 From the floor, 6 assists, 1 turnover

Isaiah Livers played in 5 of the Suns’ 8 games since the last update, and was 0/9 from the floor in getting a little over 49 minutes. He made 2 FT and grabbed 5 rebounds…I guess he got some cardio in.

Kobe Bufkin has played in 3 games since joining the Lakers, playing a bit over 29 minutes (24 of which came on a back to back day where the Lakers rested basically everyone in a surrender to the Spurs. Kobe was 3/13 from the floor, 1/6 from 3. He had 1 assist to 3 turnovers.

Danny Wolf played in all 8 Nets games since last update, playing over 22 minutes per game, and getting one start. He averaged 10.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.4 turnovers to go with 1.76 ā€œstocksā€ per game. The shooting is a bit improved from what he’d been doing, but the scoring uptic is basically product of volume - he shot 43.6% from the floor, 30.5% from 3, and 54.8% from 2. Again, this is basically better than his season clip, but still not quite what yould like - the three point shot really hasn’t fallen consistently despite his pretty robust volume - nearly 4 attempts per game in 20 minutes, and the two point shooting isn’t really what you’d hope for from a 7 footer…one of these two things will need to change as he develops. Positively, his passing seems to be playing, and he’s getting dimes without racking up too many turnovers.

Moussa Diabate basically only played in 2.5 games since our last update, due to his involvement in the fracas that was overly-litigated in the NBA thread…and has been serving a suspension since. He averaged 9 points and 13 boards in his two full games, and had grabbed 6 boards in about 1/2 his normal minutes allotment before getting ejected from the Pistons game. 14 offensive rebounds in 2.5 games is pretty good!

Caleb Houstan has been inactive since 1/17.

As the Magic continue to search for answers to fill Franz Wagner’s (and Jalen Suggs’) minutes, Jett Howard has seen an uptic in playing time. Howard played in 7 of the team’s last 8 contests, and gotten over 10 minutes in 5 of those 7 games. Overall, he averaged 11.5 minutes, 5 points, 1 assist, and 1 rebound per game. His highlight was 16 points on 6/6 shooting in a blowout over the Kings, but shot 46% overall and 35.3% from 3. That’s fine!

Franz Wagner tried to come back from his ankle injury again, playing 37 minutes across consecutive games (he scored 19 points on 7/17 shooting), then was put back on the shelf ā€œindefinitelyā€ due to continue problems with his ankle injury. Overall, this isn’t terribly promising, as it’s his second false start that ended in a continued rehab stint.

Mo Wagner, however, played in all 8 Magic games, and once again is filling up the basket. In 14.5 minutes per game, Mo averaged 11 points per game, hitting double figures in 5 straight contests. Mo shot 56% from the floor on 45% from 3 and 62.5% from 2. Good to see one of the more prodigious scoring bench bigs back in action!

Jordan Poole got back on the floor after his banishment on 2/21 and scored 23 points on 15 shots in 24 minutes. Maybe this will get him back in the rotation?

Caris Levert is back, playing in the Pistons’ last 7 games. He got nearly 19 mpg, scored almost 7 per game, and handed out nearly 3 assists while shooting roughly is season averages.

Tim Hardaway Jr. had two 20 point games in his past 8, and averaged 12 ppg across the span. He shot 40.8% from 3, keepin his season 3 point shooting above 40% - if it holds, it would be the first time in his career he exceeded 40% from three. Fun fact - he’s on pace for 226 threes this year, which would be the most by any Michigan alumni in a single season NOT named Duncan Robinson (Duncan has seasons of 270, 250, and 232). It would be roughly 87th all time - and approximately half the seasons ahead of him belong to one of 5 players - Curry, Thompson, Lillard, Hield, and Harden. With one more similar shooting season, Tim (currently 19th all time) could find his way to just outside the top 10 in career made threes.

Similarly, Duncan Robinson has two 20+ poing games in his past 7, averaging 15.3 ppg on 47.3% from 3. Robinson is trending a little ahead of Timmy - on pace for 232 threes, which would be his 4th time getting over 230. Duncan is shooting 40.5% from three - if he holds that, it would be his third time shooting over 40%, and the first time since 2020/2021.

Moussa had 9 points (4-4 FG), 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 blocks, and 3 steals in his return to the Hornets. They also won the game.

I think it’s much easier to imagine a solid future career for Wolf if you think about him as a massively oversized guard, than a big.

All of his great play has come from shot-creation, while being a very poor finisher for a ā€œbig.ā€ He has also been a plus defender (!!!) throughout the season, mostly defending smaller guys.

Isaiah Livers appears to have fallen out of the Phoenix rotation, either getting DNP’s or ā€œInactivesā€ in their 6 games since the last update.

Kobe Bufkin got into 3 uncompetitive Laker wins, playing almost 14 total minues, and going 3/10 from the floor (0/6 from 3), picking up 2 assists and 2 rebounds. He scored a season high 8 points (with the help of going 4/4 from the line) in a 28 point win over the Warriors.

Danny Wolf had a boom or bust two weeks, including one of his best games of the year (23 points on 13 shots, 3/8 from 3, 9 boards, 5 assists, 2 steals) and one of his poorest (getting blanked in a loss in Miami). Overall he was productive - 10.9 ppg, 4.3 rebounds, 3 assists to 1.7 turnovers in nearly 20 mpg. On top of this, he shot relatively well in these two weeks - 47.1% from the floor (41% on the season), 34.6% from 3 (32% on the season), 60% from 2 (49.2% on the season).

I noted earlier how well the Hornets have played with Moussa Diabate, as well as how he’s 1/5th of the best lineup in the NBA this season. Moussa has stuffed the box-score with a line of 8.6 points, 9.1 rebounds (3.9 offensive), 3.3 assists (!!), 1.4 blocks, and 1 steal in the past two weeks, shooting 67.6% from the floor.

Caleb Houstan appeared in two Atlanta romps, playing almost 5 minutes, ang grabbing 1 rebound.

Jett Howard continues to get some tick, with some variable results. He played in 6 of the Magic’s 7 games, posting two double-figure scoring games (14 and 12 points). He played nearly 16 mpg witha line of 6 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 0.9 assists while shooting 44% from the floor and 28.6% from 3.

Apparently Franz Wagner’s anticipated return is this Thursday. We’ll see!

Mo Wagner played all 7 Magic games, playing nearly 15 minutes and posting a line of 6.4 points, and 4.3 rebounds. Mo struggled from the floor, shooting 38.5% from the floor, and is only at 45.3% for the year and 51.8% from 2. Mo’s career averages are 52% fro the floor and 58% from 2 (he’s shot 64% from two since coming to Orlando) - so there is some struggle here, hopefully he can recover.

Jordan Poole is NOT back in the rotation. He played 25 minutes across two games to start our sample here, and scored 14 points on 12 shots…then sat for the next 5 games. The return of Dejounte Murray seems to have ended his tenure in New Orleans for the moment. There was, for some reason (most non-rotation players don’t get profiles) an article about his Washington tenure in the Athletic a few days ago, in which many Wizard youngsters were effusive with praise regarding how good a vet he was to them, quoting Kyshawn George, Alex Sarr, and Bilal Coulibaly - detailing the group coming over and hugging him after a recent game.

Caris Levert recently hurt his wrist, but has struggled generally. In the 7 games, he played, he scored 4.6 ppg and 1.7 assists in nearly 18 minutes, shooting 34% from the floor. This season has definitely been a struggle for Caris, and it’s tough to point to why - his shooting is a bit worse, his defense seems a bit worse, his usage is a bit down, and his assist rate is at a career low while turnover rate is at a career high. All this is doubtlessly propelling the lower minute load. It’s disappointing after what, last year, was one of his best seasons, a large part of it spent on a team that was roughly as successful as these Pistons.

Tim Hardaway Jr. kept bumping along at his season pace, roughly, playing all six games and had a line of 12.3 points, 3 rebounds, and 1.2 assists while shooting 47% from the floor and 37.5% from 3.

It was a bit of a slow spell for Duncan Robinson, starting all eight games, playing 28 minutes and scoring 9.3 points on in 28 minutes on 34.4% shooting (30.2% from 3.

Vlad Goldin played again! He got 2 boards in 2 minutes.
