Shame we sold Palmer and Foden has fallen off. Imagine a midfield staring at those two all game, would feel more British than afternoon tea.

Wes playing as a No. 8 it looks like. That was the big question, whether he would or not. I assume Freese plays the full 90 and is the No. 1 keeper.

Speaking of not perfect
It’s the same system with Dest as turbo wing back best attacking player and Freeman as the flex third CB/RB.
I’d probably call it a 3-4-2-1 but a lot of semantics there. Dest really is playing more like a winger though so could see it either way.
Big questions seem to be who starts in Tillman spot as second attacking mid and who starts at the 8 with Adams — Wes or Seb. And whether Richards can go.

The lack of hype is so crazy. But considering all the nonsense in the lead up and other factors, not super surprised. Kinda depressing though. Should be a massive deal and it’s getting about as much coverage as a Gold Cup would in the US sports sphere.

FOX winning the contract really changed the World Cup hype cycle in the US I think. Always felt like a bigger deal on ESPN. And then FOX basically stole this cycle too.
