Game 9: Northwestern at Michigan Open Thread

I’m interested to see if Howard takes Chaundee out. Beilein would (I remember him doing this after Wilson got a dunk and tech), but I like the energy he’s bringing.

Lovers needs to watch what Wagner does - try not to force things, take what is given. Maybe Livers saw fellow NBA returnee Aaron Henry go off and wanted to match that too.

A northwestern player literally goes underneath Chaundee’s as he’s hanging. Insane tech.

Chaundee v Audige to see who’s the most confident person in Washtenaw County tonight

Isn’t it time to eliminate that rule once and for all?

Agreed…but he was fine until he did the pullup

I’ve certainly never dunked in my life…but that seemed more like Chaundee was checking to make sure no one was under him before landing, no?

Hanging is one thing, chin-ups after players pass beneath you…that’s a T. How players get injured or shut down the game for tearing the rim off!

Chaundee’s in rhythm 3s?

Little worried about Livers and his confidence right now, but this team has a high collective bball IQ. They seem pretty unflappable.

The reality is no matter how stupid the hanging on rim rule (and it’s equally stupid to no spiking the ball after touchdowns in college football) is it’s still the responsibility of the players to know and obey the rules regardless of how pumped you are for a big touchdown or big dunk.

If he hangs it is probably ok (see Wagner from last game) but the pull-up is what does it.

Sometimes, sometimes the tech is worth it. Chaundee has to make sure he keeps playing his best, though. Can’t get emotionally drunk, right?

Chaundee’s contested, hyper confident ones early in the shot clock.

Hey, if they go in I’m not one to complain.

I know you can’t hang on that rim but that felt borderline. I’ve seen worse than that go uncalled.

Such a judgment call. If it’s a true breakaway and there’s no one within 10 feet, fine. If he comes flying down and crashes into Audige and injures him too, is that better? Dumb.

Chaundee knows better. That was unnecessary. So, 4/5 and a T? I’ll take that Chaundee shift every game.

Brown can sky !

I just think it’s a stupid technical. It may be the rule but it’s a pretty dumb rule…in my “humble” opinion!
