Game 29: Michigan at Ohio State Open Thread

I would’ve loved the 6 or 7 spot too to get into the late time slots. Hiding at work to watch the 8/9 game is fun/not fun.

4 offensive rebounds all game…#yikes…seems to be a major factor in most of their losses.

The worst game I’ve ever seen Livers play.

Crazy to me that he didn’t atleast get a flop warning. IDK how a ref can let himself get punked like that

Look on the bright side. A win may have gotten us a game against MSU in the second round of the BTT.

A loss gives us the chance to play Wisconsin/Maryland as the 8/9 seed.

BTW osu is a perfect example of why um needs to recruit more combo guards, something Beilein failed at in his last several classes

I don’t want any of that Wisconsin smoke.

Wagner continues to emerge as a multi-dimensional player; he’s seems to know exactly where he needs to be to make plays. Also love his attitude. He’s gonna be real good.

It will be interesting to see if Wisconsin and OSU can keep their hot shooting goin through the BTT and NCAA and on neutral courts.

I agree this roster wasn’t very good when Beilein left, however you can’t say we didn’t have some talent. A Zavier led team is always going to be competitive, Jon has been terrible this year. Brooks has improved, Franz is finding his rhythm and Isaiah has been inconsistent. Juwan has done an outstanding job with this roster but I definitely question some of his substitutions and coaching decisions.

That game was an anomaly. I highly doubt they’ll shoot that well again. I’d much rather play them or Maryland than MSU, who is by far the best team in the conference.

After last week it was whether we could get a 4 seed in the tourney.

Now it’s: image

Yup. On a neutral court with different refs, I like our chances.

Hopefully it’s just an anomally, everyone has a bad game…let’s see how this tram reacts the next two games against Nebraska and Maryland, these final games are going to a crucible.

Yeah, OSU looked like a beast tonight…that said, we had our chances, but were too sloppy and Livers was awful. Imo, our best game vs OSU’s best game = we win…but damn, the margin for error with Blue is a razor edge from either living in outhouse or the castle it seems.

I honestly don’t know if the banks were worse than the 5 straight pull up contested mid range jumpers they hit

What time was it?

A solid perspective. If you told me the day after John Beilein quit for the NBA that the team would be exactly where they are today, with the 2020 class coming in (Christopher or no Christopher), with a coach that has shown that (rookie mistakes aside) he is good and will get better, I’d take it 1000 times out of 1000.

I think both were equally as bad. The banks were heavily contested, and from long range respectively. The mid-rangers were more open, but it’s the most inefficient shot in basketball and the fact that all of them went in is just baffling.

I think two things cost us this game: OSU shooting lights out, and Isaiah Livers. I’m gonna put this more on Livers, because that’s two L’s in a row where he’s been the deciding factor IMO

Wisconsin game is basically the only game you can argue juwan lost with coaching and that was forced by an injury. Juwan like pretty much every college coach including beilein needs great talent to have great teams. Considering the injuries and talent level, Juwan has pretty much maxed out the potential of this team imo.
