Game 28: Wisconsin at Michigan Open Thread

Lovely effort so far outside of x

Down 10 is doable. I don’t think wisc will keep up this shooting pace.We need the Feb D to return. Those missed layups really hurt.

Johns and livers athleticism has been overstated, they are good athletes but not hardaway jr griii type athletes. Both especially struggle to move laterally, and livers is even worse since hes hurt.

I wouldn’t call livers athletic

That one guy better be working on a lengthy apology to Eli. At least 5 pages, single-spaced.

I’m just saying, I think I’d take a defensive strategy where the method Wisconsin scores is to go ISO on Livers/Johns most possessions. That’s not going to be too sustainable. I think it’s moreso that Livers and Johns need to be better, rather than any strategic adjustments.

This team just can’t catch a break no Brooks tonight and Livers is not healthy. So this is looking like this game is in serious trouble unless Dejulius can play big in second half and Livers and Wagner can start hitting shots. If Livers is not healthy need to rest verse OSU and Nebraska just figure probably lose to OSU and should be able to easily beat Nebraska and hope to steal one at Maryland or make run in BTT.

Meanwhile, to give some credit: Wisconsin looks really freakin good.

They hit some tough shots but the intensity on d outside of teske, z, and ddj hasn’t been there. They are shooting really well so there is no taking off plays. I’m assuming livers is hurt (he looks like he aggravated but I can’t remember they play, just that he came up kind of limping, but him and john getting beat each two or three times off the dribble is a surprise and can’t happen.

We are really missing eli and his defense/Iq. The big lineup didn’t look good quick enough to stay in front of the guards which is kind of surprising, it thought if there was any team we could pull that off with it was would be this one and i understand why juwan went for it. I think instead you role with ddj and z. DDJ blew those two layups but his defensive intensity is needed.

FWIW, if your posts aren’t showing up… We added a word filter to cut down on some people using profanity/etc. so some posts will end up in moderation. Helps in cases where people kind of lose their minds during these games.

Really? he might not be a next level athelte but hes pretty quick and bouncy.

I don’t think that’s really an advantage for Michigan, personally.

I was worried about this game prior to tip and that was before I knew we would play like this. I can’t believe the defense we’re playing. At this point I truly wonder if we would have rather played this game on a neutral court. This and the Penn State game are the worst two games we’ve played in 2020, I think?

FWIW last year in an article in the pre season Brendan Quinn said the coaches were worried about johns lateral mobility and the main goal of Sanderson was to improve lateral movement. He just doesn’t move well side to side.

Just rotate him 90 degrees.

I think it might be set a little wide?

I don’t want to post the words again, but one referred to the deity and the other is the perfectly clean version of the F word and I got stuck in the filter. Both of those are clean, no?
