Game 16: Rutgers at Michigan Open Thread

There will be games next week, even though they haven’t been announced.

A 16-6 team being ahead of a 15-1 team in the same league is just nuts.

Great win. I love you all. F the haters. On to the next. Go blue. I’m drunk.

Given that the physiological talk was the second game after a pause is the worst, coupled with relentlessness of Rutgers, I’ll take it.

So, basically, in the last quadrant of the game good FT shooters missed FTs, they got sloppy, and mental errors galore. Give Rutgers credit for creating a bunch of that, because they did, but mostly it feels like exactly what BQ warned about on the pod – it’s the second game back that gets you, with the tired legs. Here’s hoping the short turnaround doesn’t hurt them in the third game back, but won’t be surprised if they lose Sunday.

It’s basically because Iowa murdered a bunch of baby seals in the non-conference and then blew out MSU and Wisconsin in their last two. They pumped up their efficiency margin by besting the KP line and not getting blown out.

It’s a slugfest but that’s Rutgers MO. They’ll muck it up with their physical defense and will be a tough out for anyone because they just don’t give up. I’ll take the win and move on.

I have only one comment on this game:

Beat Ohio State.

Obviously I want to blow everybody out but hopefully that ugly finish gives this team a little extra juice in their prep for OSU the next few days. Beat those Buckeyes! Good night.

Man, I miss all the eff Ohio and best Ohio chants. I cannot wait to go to a Mich game in some capacity.

Jacob Young’s pointless run at the end nearly got Rutgers to 1.0 PPP. That would be a travesty.

We need to get Dickinson his mojo back. Maybe we should start Davis again. Joking…but still.

Davis is definitely craftier and has counter moves at this point in their respective careers, but Dickinson’s all around game even when he’s not scoring…

Myles Johnson is an elite post defender, tonight was always going be a struggle for Dickinson

Liddel and Young are 6’7” and 6’8” respectively. Hopefully this will be like the Maryland games.

Buckeyes gave up 82 to Penn State. I like our chances

Good win guys…for a tune-up! The biggest game in a couple years is on Sunday. Show everyone why you guys are the best in the country! Hail yeah my guys!

Franz guards EJ?

Should be Dickinson. The issue is finding the matchup for Mike Smith. You can have Eli guard Washington. I imagine Smith would guard Ahrens but as we saw tonight early on guys were shooting over him and Ahrens his a 48% 3 point shooter so Ahrens wouldn’t have much issue of rising up over him. You most likely have Livers/Wagner split Sueing/Young.
