Game 11: Southern Utah at Michigan Open Thread

I feel like it’s almost cruel that this blowout and the one against Nebraska are singlehandedly keeping us in the KP top 20

So if this team could just play Southern Utah and Nebraska every game, they would be ranked #1.

My favorite part of that half is that the guys who need to be the heart of this offense all were. Dickinson/Jones/Houstan. A bunch of other guys contributed but if those three can be primary scorers and allow Eli to be his awesome off-ball elite shooting comfortable self, this team has offense.

One game at time. Still need to see the consistency against power 5 teams. UCF should be an OK test but I wont believe anything is real until B1G play

So…who predicted that Collins, Bufkin, and Jackson would all play meaningful minutes and Jones would light it up from three??

Yes. Eli 2 FGA (in a good offensive half) is a phenomenal sign

i just can’t get too excited about this performance after what we say in the footsteps of Nebraska. Southern Utah looks bad. None of this repeatable. And Houstan still looks fairly pedestrian.

Still, good for Jones for getting some threes in and excited to watch more of Kobe.

I know I’m not alone but the 3 guard lineups with Kobe, Francis, and Devante was great. Wouldve loved to see Caleb at the 4 with them just for fun.

Other than Buffalo and Seton Hall when Michigan’s been on it’s been destruction. When they’re not we have a problem. Consistency is this team’s bugaboo and also not letting a run snowball into a defeat. To their credit they have not lost any bad games yet although jury is still out on Minnesota. The next few games will tell a lot. Win this game, the gimme on Tuesday and take down UCF away from Crisler and that’s a very good run.

I saw that and was gonna ask who is the coach Spo look alike on the bench.

That’s an awfully weak (physically) lineup.

I wouldnt say “very good run”, thats a run we are supposed to run over

Yeah no doubt, but it could put up a fair number if points potentially. But very risky.

We’re hitting 3’s, not committing fouls, and the passing is crisper. Sure - these things need to continue, but I’ll happily take it.

I like that they played Kobe at the three and TWill at the 4. Those are things that needed to be experimented with and are ideal against small teams. I also like that Diabate is being aggressive on the boards against a small team.

But above all, the defense has been good. Eli has been great on their star and they haven’t allowed second chances.

The B1G Network brought out the studio D team tonight? Their production, studio/announcing talent level is pretty embarrassing considering the cash cow that it is.

Robbie Hummel was a great find obviously. More of that, please!

BTN’s hiring process appears to consist of “former Big Ten player, preferably from the past 10-15 years, with nothing better to do.”

I lobbied for more Moussa earlier in the year… But his lack of shooting in the end will hurt us more than help. When they left him on the perimeter early to double HD in the first half he just became a piece that really didnt provide a whole lot but a few rebounds
