Watch the Big Ten invent a “Hunter Dickinson rule” where you can’t win it back to back weeks or something.

We’re now favored in every remaining game except @ Wisconsin on Torvik. The only projected wins we’re favored by less than 2 points are vs Wisconsin and @ Indiana

The “newcomer of the week,” for freshmen who are too old and too good to be considered for the “freshman of the week,” award

Still looks like a guy trying to make his mark in garbage time rather than a guy participating in the offense during the course of the game. Had a real nice pass though. You can see the progress.

For real though this is definitely starting to feel like a special group. Such a treat to watch them play this year

More fun Torvik stats:

  • Franz is now up to 35.3% from 3, meaning we now have 5 players shooting above 35% from 3. Smith is leading the way at 43.5%, and Brown and Livers are both right under 40%.

  • Every major rotation player (players getting >15% of minutes, chosen to include Davis who has dropped to 15.3% missing time with injury) is shooting 50% or greater from 2. Brooks and TWill are at 50% exactly. All of these players are shooting 60% or greater at the rim except TWill, who’s 2/5. Smith is at exactly 60%.

  • We’re now shooting 35.8% from 3 as a team, which is top 100 in the country.

  • The only not fun stat: Mike Smith has identical AST and TO rates of 27.2.

His 35.4% TO rate in conference play…:grimacing:

On the one hand that’s not great, but on the other hand the fact the team is playing so well despite the turnovers almost makes it a good thing. It means there’s still more room to improve

I am not going to defend Smith’s TOs, especially since a couple per game are sloppy for sure. But honestly they don’t worry me too much. He’s offsetting them with some beautiful passes, he’s hitting his threes, he’s playing better D then I thought he was capable of, and there’s no one else in the roster with his skill set. If a couple turnovers are the price we are paying for our up transfer PG playing 30mpg and hitting 45% from three…I will take it.

I’m sorry to be a little (not much)political but this afternoon was extremely shitty. Huge thanks to Coach Howard and the team for a very very satisfying nightcap. Wow. They were awesome tonight.

That was crazy seeing the chiclet flying on the replay

Love it … but Adios Todd, we hardly missed you.

While true, this is a reason to subscribe, not a reason to cancel!

Don’t think it’s political to say that lol. But agree

Smith has some legit crazy lazy passes but the good is so much better than the bad. He is a player. Can’t do much about a 6-4 dude rising up on him but for the most part he is i the right place on D. Huge positive for the team. (I worry a little about next year, when the team will be so young, but man happy to live the moment.)

He could stay on the team next season. Not sure of his intentions though.

Given both the situation at the Capitol today and the situation regarding Michigan Basketball, I think the only reasonable solution is to elect Juwan Howard as President.
