Michigan seemed to make this mistake a couple times last year as well. Luckily it didnât cost them.
I think teams tend do it early because as the clock gets lower, they worry about fouling someone in the act of shooting.
Road warriors
so is it impossible to protect a three-point lead in the NBA or what
Cavs having untimely injuries and now face a 2-0 hole with a 2 game road trip on deck. Yikes all around
That was a brutal loss. 7 point lead with less than a minute left. They are in big trouble now
Man the stereotype sure does seem true ⌠You really only have to watch the fourth quarter of these NBA playoff games. No lead is safe.
Itâs kind of funny that Atkinson is going through a similar thing to what JB dealt with in last yearâs playoffs.
Fire Atkinson
Was the Knicks-Pistons series basically the NBA Finals?
The effort level the nuggets have in playoff spots like this is pathetic, I joked after game 1 but was somewhat serious, they should have just sent the starters back to Denver after game 1
Apologies to whenever I said NY-Bos wouldnât be a series. Hand up.
Obviously the two games are really highlighting how tight the Celtics get in close games. That said, and I donât want to reduce this just to regression to mean but⌠I just think the script that needs the Celtics to keep missing open and wide open threes, while the Knicks have >50 FG% fourth quarters almost entirely off of jump shots just does not feel sustainable.
still a lotta game left!
Brunson is easily hateable but man ⌠what a killer.
That was me. Although before the series started I was about to reply to you that you might be right about it being a gentlemenâs sweep.
But my sense that OG and Bridges were underrated and that the Celtics just didnât look right appears to be well founded.
Tatum is really good but I think he can get in his own head during big games - too involved with the refs, foul calls, etc
My takeaway from the NYK/Boston series is I feel a lot better about the Pistons after watching the first two games. The Pistons gave them all they can handle without Ivey/Beef and probably was the better team of the two, but their inexperience showed up at times.
For sure. I underestimated the wings, particularly OG.
The group effort of OG, Bridges and Hart to live in the gaps and scramble out to shooters has been fantastic.
That said, the Celtics just need to post up Tatum more. Brown as well but I think mid post looks for Tatum gets him to where theyâre currently trying to get him with the pick and roll. I donât care if he posts OG. Now those spot up jumpers are from 15 instead of 25 and those first couple dribbles when he creates space gets him to the rim.
Theyâre overly focusing on getting a switch through high ball screen and attacking mismatches that way. Now, Iâm careful to harp on the approach too much because with average shooting theyâre up 2-0. But I think thereâs something to these three attempts being open, with a fly by contest, as opposed to being wide open.
Wanting more post touches is about solving the answer of how do we unlock Tatum and get the offense to not totally die in crunch time. Because having Tatum attack from the top, then get swarmed, isnât working.
