Detroit Pistons & NBA Talk

That’s what it sounds like

How soon can we flip KJ for another 2nd?

I like this move. They got KJ and 2 2nds for free without needing to give up an asset. KJ is decent but not great, but fills the need at the 4. Makes me wonder if Tek will be shipped out at some point for a ballhandler.

Could be something else on the horizon

Hmmmm, interesting. Either way, the Pistons got assets for free so I’m not complaining about it.

Hope for Bulls fans:

This seems like an awful deal for the bucks. They seem out of options to improve, have to wonder if they blow it up this summer.

KJ Martin + a 2nd for Zo?

Yeah the, like, semi-cynical view here is now you can package anybody outside of Giannis/Dame/Lopez + the 2031 and get somebody that matters but the negative of taking on those bad contracts is a huge weight on the value of that pick. Which itself is worth, what, an OK starter?

The fully cynical view is that the Bucks know they’re gonna blow it up this offseason.

I think this gives the Bucks flexibility by getting under the second apron so they can now aggregate a trade (so they can now package say Portis and Connaughton to get someone.) Not saying it’s a good deal but I’m guessing that was the thought process.

There’s no combo of players + picks they can send out to get better. Teams keep making deals like this and end up where they were minus a pick way out into the future. It’s not good business.

Only thing I can see is Portis + Pat C. and a bunch of picks for Cam Johnson.

The 2nd apron CBA rule has made teams stupid because they need to move players just to get under it.

The Pistons are in a good shape because they’re the only team (to my knowledge) as of now to be under the cap space.

Believe the only pick of any value they have is their '31 first. Everything else would be further horcruxing of swaps they already made or seconds.

It seems like getting Kuz means they couldn’t make Cam happen.

part of the calculation also just has to be that Middleton doesn’t and may not ever really play and Kuzma for all his faults does, and maybe can be convinced to not play like a complete moron now that he’s in a vaguely serious situation

Could be nothing but it could mean that he’s getting traded pretty soon whether if it’s tonight or tomorrow at the deadline.

In this case, I think it’s nothing. He hasn’t played a back to back all year, and played last night.

I mean it could ALSO be something

Right, that’s why I said it could be nothing. Considering the deadline is tomorrow and there are numerous teams who are interested in Zo. Could be nothing but could be something!

I’ve been F5ing Shams and NBA insider account all day long lol
