Detroit Pistons & NBA Talk

Thurs/Saturday at home to Indy/Phoenix. Then a real tough 5 game roadtrip.

Winning 10 of their last ten and will hit the halfway point in the season above 500. I thought this team would win 28 all season.

And what makes this even more impressive is Cade was doing this against OG and Mikal

it really is crazy what replacing more than 8,000 sub replacement level minutes with real NBA players will do for a team

Also so nobody gets angry, they doubled Cade and left THJ open and he made the extra pass to Beasley both times. Still a bold move leaving THJ wide open.

Cade is the one star that I can think of who doesnā€™t do any head-jerking or anything when he absorbs contact.

My hot take is heā€™s the best guard in the Eastern Conference this season. He is an All Star but All NBA is starting to be a legit conversation imo

Brunson is a great player, but not at all fun to watch. Heā€™s like watching Illinois hoops. Drive, flail, draw a foul, repeatā€¦

I am so glad I threw 50 bucks on Pistons over 25.5 wins

Easiest bet Iā€™ve made simply because Monty isnā€™t coaching.

the ā€œmgl allstarsā€ (off the top of my head, not based on if theyā€™re currently healthy or likely to play or whatever, they are the best 12 man teams in each conference I think)

EAST (this is hard, because there are like 4 guys over 6ā€™6" who I think deserve it who are healthy (which is why Franz is here despire missing so much time)):

Guards: Garland, Mitchell, Brunson, Cunningham, Halliburton, White
Forwards: Tatum, Mobley, Giannis, Wagner, Siakam
Centers: Towns

WEST:

Guards: SGA, Booker, Curry, Irving
Forwards: Jalen Williams, JJJ, Durant, Amen Thompson (hot take, simply because I like him and the forward line here isnā€™t that compelling)
Center: Jokic, Wembanyama, Davis

My last spot is either Hartenstein, Zubac, or Sengun. IDK

For me, Doncic and Morant havenā€™t played enough to get over guys who played 50% more and a little worse

I do generally believe better teams should have multiples, so I feel ok about 3 Cavs, 2 Celtics (White was towards the bottom but heā€™s really good in his role), 2 Thunder. Felt I had to get Amen or Sengun in there because FVV wasnā€™t going to make it and they need at least 1 guy. 2 Suns and 2 Pacers feel bad when thereā€™s 1 Rocket and 1 Grizz (Grizzlies lineups have been so all over the place though its tough).

Need to account for the new all star format. You will have a mix of east and west players on the same team.

itā€™s still 12 from each so doesnā€™t really matter

4 teams of 8, 8 from rising stars winning team

lol Iā€™m not fā€™ing with the rising stars

if itā€™s not 12 from each conference anymore (I think it is?), Iā€™d probably drop like Siakam or Halliburton and take another one of those Western conference bigs I was down to. Other than that, w/e

Donā€™t look now, but the Pistons are 1.5 games back from the 4th place spot in the Eastern Conference. :eyes:

So the injury was less severe than Paolo?

It would appear so

Iā€™m very interested to see what the Paolo/Franz dynamic looks like now.
