The Pistons had themselves a nice little win at Phoenix tonight. That helps get the bad vibes of that Jazz loss out of the way.
Helps that they got Ivey back from knee injury. Gave them a nice boost to the offense. The Pistons offense were hot for most of the game which helps keep pace from the Suns.
KD always give Cade props whenever they play each other and KD is a hoop junkie so he knows ball. Lol
Cade has been so d*mn good this year

He isā¦ probably an All Star? Without thinking of who Iād name in a top 12
Tatum
Giannis
Franz
Brunson
Mitchell
White
Mobley
OG
Butler
Herro
Cade
Lillard
Are probably my top 12?
But I have like 2 bigs so thatās probably not allowed
So nice now Mo is out with a knee injury. Orlando dealing with the bad kind of magic right now
Canāt have an EC all star squad without KAT this year
Dare me, hahaha
Carrying over the stuff that was posted in the wrong thread, I think the moves for Hardaway, Tobias, and The BEEZ were all good. This team needed some vets who could show the young players how to win. Weāve had too many years in a row where weāre losing 8 out of 10 games. It had to be deflating for Cade. We had to start trending in the right direction. Winning 25-35 games isnāt great but itās progress and uplifting.
Tim will likely only be around for this season. If he comes back, it would be at a reduced role and a reduced salary. Beasley could be a good bench piece for years to come. Tobiasā value on the court does seem to be diminishing but he still can be (likely already is) a good mentor for Holland and Ausar.
I donāt fully trust Gores to stay out of the way but after the Monty Williams debacle, maybe heās finally learned his lesson.
They liked the Beasley deal (he was the cheapest of the three and been the best to date, and is the youngest, so duh). Fair to note that a huge portion (the hugest) is basically the larger framework of the franchise than any individual deal or this off-season. This is sort of why Iām confused as to how the Wizards got off any easier, given theyāve been swimming the same waters, but whatever.
I would put the Wiz at the bottom. They last made the playoffs in 2018. They havenāt been to an NBA Finals since 1979 and have only won five playoff series (all in different years) since that finals appearance 45 years ago.
Crazy that one season they had: Webber, Juwan, Rod Strickland, Ben Wallace, Gheorghe Muresan, Calbert Cheaney, Tracy Murray, and Harvey Grant on the same roster and couldnāt do better than an 8th seed. Granted, that was young Ben Wallace, but itās still a bad look.
The Wiz have made a choice about what theyāre doing in a way the Bulls have not and the GM they hired comes from an org that knows what itās doing. And it sure seems like he specifically convinced Leonsis to change direction.
None of this is a very big deal but Iād prob take it over the Hornets who have new ownership but no clear direction yet and maybe over the Pistons simply bc their draft equity might be that valuable.
I got the sense from last yearās pod Nate is friendly-ish with Dawkins but also see above
Yeah I think he just likes Winger in Washington
Fwiw, @JD1 the franchise rankings are based on whoās on hand so the Pistons being good in the aughts doesnāt come to count
Another big road win!!!
I donāt know for a fact that they lost every game they were up 4 points or fewer at the 5-minute mark last year but it sure felt like it. This year, Iād guess theyāre above .500. Itās still an adventure but theyāre doing enough to hold on a fair share of the time.
Ima die of laughter if we go 3-1 or 4-0 on this road trip after getting knocked off by Utah at home
Thereās something quite funny about Embiid getting ejected because of Wemby possibly flopping. I mean Embiid never does thatā¦
