I thought turning Stew into a 4 was insane crazy stuff (losing his defense for adequate accuracy on 3 3-pointers a game seemed like a bad trade, but hey they had to give Wiseman and Bagley minutes you know) so glad to see him getting an opportunity to do things he’s actually good at.
Stew makes sense as a backup 5. He provides valuable things, and can be a key piece in games like last night. It’s only possible though when he’s going up against a guy like Andre Drummond. He’s just not big enough to be expected to play a ton of minutes at the 5 against an offensively capable center.
All the more the reason why the Pistons should find a starting defensive center who can protect the rim with Beef backing up at the 5. Duren isn’t it. He’s just not good defensively.
This season is clearly the audition to see if they think Duren can be that piece. I’m not sure he can, but he’s had such bad coaching to this point who knows what he can become. For any sustained success in the NBA though you need a center who’s either a really good offensive player, or really good defensive player. Duren is neither today.
We know he’s a good rim runner lob threat who can rebound, but other than it, he doesn’t offer much.
Dylan answered above, but the G League is actually testing the rule for the first time this year so heaves taken at the end of quarters don’t count as individual missed shot attempts. Not sure why they need to test it in the G League before adopting a rule like this in the NBA, but I am sure it’ll become effective soon.
Lol, its funny it needs to be tested. They track the attempts, it’s just math, they already know exactly what the impact will be (minimal)
People probably don’t bet on the G-League, right?
Brother, I got news for you
You can bet FGA props in the G? No way.

Yikes. 17th pick in the draft and didn’t even get 3 years.
Though 4 games, the Thunder are getting 14 steals and 9 blocked shots a game. The Shai/Caruso/Cason Wallace combo gets EIGHT steals a game so far.
JHS was high bust risk being taken that high. He was a good college player, but not overly athletic and relied heavily on the “other 2s” for his scoring, without generating a lot of FT attempts.
David Roddy, Johnny Davis, Patrick Baldwin, Marshon Beauchamp all had their options turned down too.
Gotta keep Bronny happy.
Bronny is going to the G League at the end of their road trip so hopefully that can end the snark, and they can call up Alex Fudge whose marginal superiority to Bronny will undoubtedly drive much winning
As a more or less casual NBA fan who really enjoys when the league is engaging, I’m really missing the Lowe Post these past couple of weeks.
Yeah, a major loss. Zach is the best.
Wow… I’m stunned that Doc Rivers is significantly underperforming… truly amazed… didn’t see it coming
He was effective switching on Maxey, which was pretty impressive.
