Detroit Pistons & NBA Talk

They don’t all. Which is a bit surprising considering the way everybody talks about Hardaway. Grimes’ decline I think was pretty much just not playing.

BPM really hates THJr tho. And I never check LEBRON or EPM so maybe they agree.

Grimes might have been playing through an injury (or is previous season was a fluke.)

Crafted NBA is a good resource for the various plus minus models:

can you put a link in there?

Hardaway was awesome for like the first…3/5 of the year?

Then didn’t make a shot the rest of the way

And he’s sort of a 2/3 swing piece at this stage

The concept of THJ and a guy like Tyus Jones plus Isaiah Stewart at the 5 at least in theory makes it pretty easy to slot in your young guys that maybe can’t shoot to be on ball creators.

Ofc I said this about last year’s roster having some of that.

I had kind of talked myself into him. Wonder where they go from here. They just going to hire Sweeney?

lol.

That’s the rumblings on Sweeney.

Sweeney, Nori and Bickerstaff already interviewed with the Pistons AFAIK. Hard pass on Bickerstaff which would’ve been a continuation of the past few coaching hires.

In fairness to you, you never mentioned Killian Hayes at all!

Also Harris, Morris, and Bogdanovic were all hurt

I think the lesson is that older vets that were never top 50 guys can really age quickly and I didn’t take that seriously enough.

My problem with the roster last year is that they had young guys and old guys but no one in the middle of their career at their peak. I’m not talking stats. Just good role players in their late 20s

I don’t think one cancels the other out.

Wow big news @kturnup

Murray
McCollum
Ingram
Zion
JV

Jones, Murphy, Hawkins, Alvarado

Lotta good players

Still doesn’t feel coherent (really as long as Zion doesn’t play Center I think it will always feel incoherent, and having three on-ball guys who AREN’T Zion makes me ask what we’re doing here

Trade Ingram?

Kobe Bufkin, welcome to the starting lineup and insane year two jump once again!

Trading Ingram makes a good bit of sense but at the same time Zion is never healthy so what does it all even matter lol

Yeah that’s sort of the problem is that you need a shadow team that can go .500 when Zion is dead but that team makes little sense around him so idk
