He is averaging 32, 7 and 5 on 58% shooting over the last 5 games. It’s not fair to pretend tonight’s game was a one off. Averaging 7 assists per game with this roster is impressive too because my goodness there are very few shot makers. He has two 40-point games in the last 4.

Is Cade, Luka? Of course not. But not good? That’s bush. And I would like to repeat my question from the other day: Which NBA players, if any, could turn this Pistons team into a team that contends for a play-in (swapping for Cade so not playing with him)? These players are terrible. Yes, Giannis, Embiid, Luka, Jokic could will this team to win more games than this, but I’m not sure any of them make this even a mediocre team.

I don’t think any single player would turn this roster to, like the Hawks or Bulls (currently I think at the bottom of the playin standings)

But they’re also like 6 points of net rating better than the Pistons

To be as bad as the pistons (2nd/3rd percentile in net rating in the modern era? Probably worse?) the failure is comprehensive and definitely includes the guy doing the majority of the work

Can he cut usage and become useful? Sure. But he is bad as a top player. I wouldn’t dream of maxing him, but I’m sure they will.
