I think he’s an above average athlete, not an elite one. He’s about average size for a wing in the NBA.

i haven’t heard anybody say he’s anything other than simply less than the, like, top 5 athlete in the league that Amen will be as soon as he’s drafted.

Not true. If Ausar had a different last name and was not specifically compared to Amen, he would be considered one of the best athletes in the draft. Just because he isn’t in the top 1% of NBA athletes like Amen, doesn’t mean he isn’t a high level athlete. The scouts I’ve heard have called him a comfortably above average athlete.

Both Vecenie and Givony specifically use the word “elite” in their scouts. Nate and Danny said the same thing when I listened yesterday.

What I have heard is that Ausar would be a top 5-10 athlete in the league, the only difference is that Amen would be top 1-3.

Yeah, I assume they see it as a two way thing right, they have an “in” at a massive agency that will hopefully get them access to some guys, but also have to whet the agencies beak a bit too.
Bill Davidson was such a good and innovative owner. Miss those days.

Since ppl are giving final thoughts on draft, I’ll go ahead and say that there isn’t a pick at 5 that I would like less than Walker. I think I’m hoping that the PG Thompson (Amen?) slips as he seems highest upside of any possible 5th pick, but that seems unlikely. I think post Amen, I’d be happiest w Whitmore or D&ck, who are on slightly different timelines but seem to be no doubt NBA hoopers. Everybody else in this 5-10 region has pretty serious warts. I do like Black best of the rest, I think, but I haven’t looked at Cason/Carson the UK guard but he seems very intriguing.

Regardless of what you think of the Thompson’s game, I think the positional dichtomy people want to drive between their games isn’t really there. I think Ausar didn’t play PG because he was on the team with Amen.

Yeah, I think the big question is if you can get out of 5 and into a spot where you maybe can get two of these guys, but I really doubt it.
