I was skeptical at first too, but I’m starting to see it. I don’t think the Thompsons are players Troy would want. Troy really likes Isaiah Stewart, so he might not be that inclined to use the pick on Jarace Walker. If they also don’t want anything to do with Brandon Miller, they might have a top 3 of Wemby, Scoot, and Whitmore, with nobody else they love that high. Maybe they’d be interested in trading down and collecting another asset. Or dangle the pick and their cap space for a proven player some team is willing to move.

My take is that there is a SHARP drop after Scoot, and if Inhad 3, 4, 5, I’d be interested to see what I could get by moving
I’m not sure the gap between Whitmore/Miller/Walker/Thompson’s is so big
I’d just move down and take a different one

Hendricks is only 19 and has lot of upside to go with translatable skills as a big wing player. I think he’s closer to being a top 5 than most people realize. He’s 6’9" wing player who can shoot, is athletic and can guard 3-5.
This would be one of the worst NBA hires in the past decade or so right? Jim Boylan and who else?

That’s so funny. how does working at OTE get you close to the NBA? As an assistant I could see but straight to HC? IDC as long as they don’t hire Juwan, it’s your problem. My team finally has a coach (competent front office not so much unless you love nepotism)

I’d be pretty surprised if Ollie is the choice. Think Charles Lee is the guy.
I personally would like the Pistons to hire Udoka. But they’re gonna be the ones that have to do some due diligence there, not me.

Considering their assistant GM, Rob Murphy, was placed on leave for workplace misconduct. Weaver emphasized good culture on the team and the front office. Ime would destroy that credibility. Ime was suspended for allegedly sleeping with a co-worker’s wife but the Celtics has kept things wrapped up under lids. Matt Barnes came out publicly to support Ime but quickly backtracked when he learned more about why Ime was suspended.
Count me skeptical that Ime will get hired by the Pistons. Also, the Celtics won 6 more games the following year which clouds on how good of a coach Ime really is. Ime didn’t really mess up the franchise winning ways which is the minimum that you can ask for in a coach
Well, Udoka created the template that Mazzula uses, so he deserves credit for that - and the woman he slept with suggests it was absolutely work place quid pro quo, so there is that too.
He’s a good coach (a very good coach) but there are obviously problems and public relations issues involved with that.

I think there’s more to it than just sleeping with a coworker’s wife that the public doesn’t know. I don’t think he’ll be selected to be the coach for the Pistons.
